Rooms very tidy , staff at the hostel very friendly and helpful , had
a very good breakfast for £4-99 very good value , please note
breakfast had to be ordered by 21.00 the night before , breakfast
included tea and coffee , fruit juices , cornflakes , weetabix , plus
a full english breakfast , which includes sausage and egg , hash brown
, tomatoes and beans .
The staff were very friendly & helpful. I checked in later in the evening & liked the 24hr access. I was invited down to Cromer for the Crab & Lobster Festival & on a budget I wasn't looking for epic accomodation; if it hadn't been for Sherfingham YHA I wouldn't have been able to come. It was warm and dry. Very comfortable bed. We were warmly welcomed and had all we needed. It was the first time we had used a YHA hotel and will be using more of them.There was a real mixture of people staying there.
An up to date hostel where the facilities are modern and resident friendly. The breakfast was a high quality and good value. The location of the room was ideal for my 90 year old mother, on the ground floor.

Proximity to the wonderful Sheringham Park (Nat.Trust) with its rhododendron forest and views of the sea (should be highlighted at the hostel)
Plenty of parking.
We enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, we felt really comfortable using the common rooms and our son particularly enjoyed the games room.

It was so close to Sheringham town centre we didn't have to walk far at all.

Very little bad to say , you must bring a towel with you , but they can
be hired for £2 from the hostel , no soap in bedrooms , but you can buy
soap from the reception area , and toilets and showers are not in the
bedroom . no toilets in the room , but there is a sink .
I don't think there was anything we didn't like.
I was a little disturbed by the noose of the water systern going all night and a few hostelers created a little bumping around after 11pm. Which was a pity.
One stove totally out of action.
One fridge immediately next to the heater! Other one had iced up freezer...so could not use for re-freezing ice bottles.
There was no electrical sockets in the bedroom, and no shelves/cupboard. The beds could be more comfortable.
only the top of the window opens and when its hot weather it gets very warm in the room.

The lock to the bathroom/shower room (opposite room 1 on the ground
floor) did not work very well. Had to have someone on the outside
opening the lock .
Rooms electricity was a bit 'dodgy' the lights in the room kept going off and on!?!
Only a tiny window to open in a family room so, it got very hot!!
Walls were grubby and in need of a paint..room looked shabby and a bit dull..
Room 25 tired and bunk not too comfortable... old matress???.

I booked for female only dorm. There were five females and one male!! Not good at all but did not find out until 12.30 am on my return to the roomm therefore no alternative.
No chairs in the room to sit on.
Shower not working and no notice on the door to direct to another shower.

The facilities were very basic but OK.
You need to improve the serving of breakfast. Using the halogen lights to keep food hot won't help. I would suggest the food needs glass coverings to make sure the eggs bacon and sausages do not become dry.
Rather institutional/ hospital-like feel of the place.
No one at reception when we arrived and couldn't drop bags off. We weren't informed of this when we phoned through earlier when told we could drop them off.
ladder to top bunk was broken (only two rungs in place).
Shower was blocked but not able to report it as no one on reception.
Meal very overpriced -small portion of lasange (mostly pasta) with no vegetables and serving person had unhelpful attitude, unable to go back to get salad as 30 very hungry youngsters blocking my way. Cost £7.50!!! Given no explanation of how to pay or record of what we had had so we could have had 3 courses and only paid for 1 or possibly not at all.
