Good value for money (at winter rates) particulalry as we were given a free upgrade but I don't think I would pay the full rate for this hotel. Celebrated my wife's 60th birthday. Went on boat trip with family.the area. The views and staff were lovely and the staff very helpfu especially the Australian lady, apologies for not remembering your namel. We were upgraded to an executive suite which was much appreciated and made a big difference to our stay.alle bewertungen »
I enjoyed my room very much. Very helpful staff. Hospitality. the view of the estuary, food was Very Good and tasty, excellent breakfast excellent value for money break, nice location, staff were helpful as much as they could be, the pool and steam room were just brilliant, would recommend for a great value for money break.Excelent views from room. Convenience to town centre. Great view. Friendly and efficient staff. Excellent location. Excellent breakfasts. Lovely views, and value for money.Location. good facilities, great location and view from breakfast area.Location was very good. I liked the location and the food in the restaurant.Ambiance. Good food in restaurant. Pleasant staff. Location.proximity to the town. Dinner was very good Swimming pool etc fair gym very poor, some of the staff were good but on average others let them all down. buffet does not work for breakfast here as one guy was trying to serve his english was poor and the other staff could not keep his stocks filled up fast enough.Possibly the knowledge it is going to be knocked down and refurbished means you become aware that there is work to be done to keep it to a 4 star standard but it would not be worth the owners carrying out the work. It might make it difficult for the staff to keep customers happy (although we were very happy) due to the hotel future. Yes; the room service supper I ordered in was disappointing (the "warm" rolls with my soup were in fact stone cold) and overpriced for what it was. No everything was fine. The only comment I would make is that you should be able to have a quote for B B and EM which we had to pay extra for and did not know beforehand the cost. room was a little small for a double, the table and chairs by the window got in the way at times, paintwork was tired, shower a bit weak, annoying creaky floorboards, drinks in house were expensive. I asked about the plans to knock the hotel down and this is true, due to happen September 2009. The hotel will be rebuilt and the access road widened. In my opinion this would probably explain why it is just about holding on to it's 4 star rating now.Looking very tired and in need of an external facelift. Bathroom in need of up dating, tiles very slippery. Restaurant staff made us feel rushed during dinner as they were ready to pounce as soon as you put our cutlery down during general chat whilst eating dinner.Cut back on Piano player. Children were not allowed in the bar/restaurant after 6pm, so we wereconfined to our room, once we returned from dinner in the village. Wouldonly recommend hotel to couples. Room was very average, cold and drafty.Bathroom was very dated. The bathroom plumbing was totally inadequate - shower facility very poor and the water drained from the sink extremely slowly. We asked to change rooms where the bathroom situation was slightly better. Not enough attention to basic detail on cleanliness of room. Rumour has it this hotel is due a revamp or will be demolishedaltogether in the next twelve months. If this is not the case then itneeds a damn good clean,as it is looking very tatty and dated inside!!. poorly maintained no douybt due to it's impending demolition. had to ask reception several times to have room made up 2pm 3pm at 4pm the receptionist said we would have to wait for turndown service I asked them not to bother as we would settle for towels if that could be done then. The room was very small and would have been better discribed as a single and in no way at all did it reflect the images on their web site Breakfast was really poorly organised.
