The Mill was lovely and a little piece of heaven at the end of a wet day. We loved our room - like a home from home and had everything we could ask for. The breakfast was superb and the owners were super friendly which made the stay all that bit extra special. Warm welcome, characterful property, excellent location either to break a journey or make a short stay, spotlessly clean, good recommendation a few minutes up the road for evening meal, super breakfast in interesting surroundings, fabulous value.

Lovely large room, very clean, nice bathroom and the lounge area was very comfortable. The breakfast was made with good quality ingredients and the hosts were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We just made a late booking for an overnight stop en-route from Scotland to Berkshire. we received a warm welcome on arrival, our room reached expectation and breakfast was good, excellent scrambled eggs. The owners are lovely and so helpful and welcoming, and the guest house itself is stunning, hotel standard at b+b prices. Beautiful location and excellent breakfast, will stay here again. Borrowby Mill was a super place, and the welcome was very good. They advised on places to eat and booked a table for us. We would certainly go back, and hope to later in the year. N/A. Nothing. Very steep staircases to second floor with the luggage. If I had to find fault with anything, it would be the small TV. The owners had to ask us for payment on day of departure! As we had booked through you and you had taken credit card details, we assumed that payment has been sorted. Lack of peppermint tea, a detail I know but important if one does not drink china/indian tea etc. Nothing. Payment only accepted in cash. Only handwritten receipt on plain paper given. As I was staying on business, such a receipt is inadequate. nothing to dislike. Bit cold in room when we were there. No radiators on. Not heat freaks, so we didn't ask about it. I'm sure it would have been rectified if we had asked. nothing I can think of. Would of prefers more food for breakfast! The couple who owned it seem nice, they were very loud and personal and I did not get there sense of humour. Nor did my partner. We felt the gentleman was oddly rude at times. Nothing against them just too invasive for a quite weekend. no gowns to cross the hall to bathroom. Nothing to dislike. I found it difficult to get warm no heating obviously as it was June but the building was in the shade and the weather was damp but this would not put me off going again. there was nothing to dislike. Traffic noise from A19 when window open. full English breakfast should be offered as standard. Although the mattress was comfortable the metal bed was awful and squeaked with the slightest movement - so not a good night's sleep. Although the large bathroom (with a good big shower) was private it was not ensuite and was the next room on the landing - not ideal.
