  Great location easy walk to Lambton Quay and other quality shops, bars, restaurants, Courtney Pl. An easy 15min walk to stadium we were in Wellington to watch Warriors vs Bulldogs game. Accommodation was excellent everything we needed in our apartment which was well suited for 4 guests. And called us a cab to airport when we collected our baggage well - The lady at front desk was friendly and helpful. We had trouble getting the tv to work, she explained and also offered to come to room and get it working. Also my daughter accidently dropped her ipod by lift which was found by permanent apt man, who phd us to arrange getting back to us - very honest and appreciated!

  The staff was amazing! I had to push my (non-refundable) stay back by a day, and they were happy to oblige...at no cost. They even offered to call the booking site I had made the reservation through on my behalf! I then needed to extend my stay, and Faiz (sp?) took the initiative to move future check-ins to other rooms so - Close walking distance to Lambton Quay and Cuba St. We had a carpark that we could use. A sheltered smoking area. A dairy almost directly across the road with another one a little further. Plus there was supermarket further down the road, all of which were convenient for those pesky little grocery top ups. The staff were helpful and friendly. Good price, good location, good service.

  Location is great, walking distance to centre city, we were on the 22nd floor and had a view over the city and water. Room was serviced daily, although it was small it had everything we needed, including a microwave oven. We arrived early on the first day, and could go straight to ou - Good location, everything functioned well, clean, helpful no-frills front desk. We did not use restaurant facilities. Anyone considering booking should note that taxis drop off and pick up in Gilmer Tce, which is level with 7th floor reception, walk along well lit underground carpark. Take lift to ground level, then walk down Plimmer Steps to get to Lambton Quay. Lift does not go right down to street level.

  I stayed here solo for a week while on business - this time I brought my husband with me as I really wanted him to see it. The bed was so comfortable!! The location is outstanding, the price was very affordable, and the staff are fantastic - always friendly and helpful. The room we had retained all its period detail whilst offering every comfort. I could not fault the service. The receptionist was brilliant in resolving a parking problem for us. We were upgraded to a large, beautifully appointed room, in keeping with the 1920s period in which the hotel was built. Everything was lovely including cups and saucers. We had a large bathroom, including bath with claw legs and twin basins. TBreakfast and lunch in the restaurant were excellent. Staff were very helpful.We recommend this hotel highly.

  The staff were fantastic - friendly and helpful. The location was right in the city and it was an easy walk and elevator ride down to Lambton Quay, the waterfront, supermarket, shops etc. I especially liked the fact that given we had preschool-age children, the rooms weren't adorned with things they could 'play' with (wreck!). Parking was onsite and visib - It exceeded my expectations. For being in the heart of the city, it was great value for the money. I was worried it would be the least of places we stayed in NZ. Instead it was the nicest. My daughter and I enjoyed the access to the pool and exercise equipment, and the lift to downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was most comfortable with a great kitchen, and our own washer / dryer. We would certainly recommend it to our friends.

  The charm of staying at a real pub cannot be denied, especially coming from the U.S.. The staff was uniformly excellent, especially waiting up for us after our very late-night arrival. We stayed in a King Suite that was not directly over the pub, so had no issues with noise. The room was huge and included a very romantic 4-poster canopy bed.
