Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu - Fotos
Was die Leute sagen
We had a 1 month trip around Japan :- Tokyo(Asakusa), Tokyo(Yokahama), a cruise, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka & back via Helsinki. Throughout Japan we were impressed by the politeness, friendliness & cleanliness & we are sure all hotels at all levels meet the same standards.
This was a traditional Ryokan & needed getting used to ! It was perfectly located right in the middle of the oldest suburb of Tokyo, close to a temple, market street & river. It is however a unique experienc. alle bewertungen »
Hotel is a quiet and peaceful haven in a busy, interesting area, just
minutes away from many things to see and excellent traditional shopping.
Staff are helpful, although it will help if you can speak a little
Japanese. I have stayed in their tatami rooms before and this time
stayed in a single (western style) room which was spacious for a single.
Good to have free wifi, unlike many hotels. Tip - buy the koto cd at the
reception desk as a memento.
We can recommend this reykan to everybody. I strongly recommend it. Reykan placed in the quiet and famous place and you can travel convenient from this place. Service is on the high level. I really fall in love in this reykan and especially thanks to Tabito-san who helped us in everything. I will remember this reykan and Tabito-san with warm in my soul! Thank you very very much!.
Shigetsu was our first hotel in Japan and it started off our trip well.
The staff were lovely and helpful and the breakfasts superb. The baths
were great and the family room quite large compared to other places we
stayed. And Asakusa is a great location. Very enjoyable.
- the female staff was very, very friendly and had very decent English skills
- the small onsen was very clean and nice
- the rooms are quite large and provide plenty of storage possibilities
- very central location, 3 minutes walking from the Asakusa metro station.
Loved staying in a traditional Japanese room with Tatami mats and
sleeping on a futon. Staff was so helpfull in finding restraunts and
understanding train or travel plans. Breakfast was good.
The location was right in the heart of the busy Asakusa shopping mall. A stones throw away from the temple. Plenty of excellent restaurants close by.
A most enjoyable 6 days in Tokyo.
- Hotel is right beside the せんそうじ, perfect location.
- The friendly front desk can speak basic English.
- Room is tiny but clean
- Will be my one of the top choices to stay in Tokyo.
the tiny onsen on top (a peaceful oasis); the japanese breakfast; the adorable old couple running the place; location close to the metro, the temple and in a quiet street.
Very friendly, particularly Miyaki and Watanabe (spelling?).... Breakfast was very good. Water heater was very handy. They held my luggage till 4 PM which was very nice.
Location in heart of Asakusa. Efficient, modern, clean. Japanese-
style accomodation. Pleasant staff. Excellent Japanese breakfast.
Could open window.
japaneese style of the room, friendly staff, free Wi-Fi, location in Asakuza, very close to Sensoji temple and 4 min. walk from subway station.
Location, and decor, as well as attention to detail like luggage delivery for a fee ahead to the airport. Breakfast was done to perfection.
We arrived here very late about half past 0, but the staff is also very friendly and helped us to check in. Thanks a lot! :).
The friendly and helpful staff.
That each Japanese breakfast was different.
The cleanliness.
The Onsen.
The location.
Very kind staff, provides assistance e.g. for baggage shipment service, very good location, tasty japanese breakfast.
Very friendly staff. Great hospitality. Nice public bath with a great view. Nice stay at very competitive price.
Excellent location, great Japanese room experience, Very nice staff! Would definitely recommend it!.
We appreciated the good loction near the temple and all the other attractions.
Very helpful staff. comfortable rooms. great atmosphere. convenient location.
Staff. Location. Japanese bath Value for money. Peaceful.
Spotlessly clean.
Perfect location, Shared bath on the top floor with nice view of Sensoji.
the cleanliness and helpful staff for a very reasonable price.
The staff was really friendly and kind.
Excellent location.
Very good position, near the metro station and the temple.
Proxi it's to station and temple / excellent staff.
Cleanliness, traditional bath, staff, position.
Excellent location, excellent breakfast.
Excelent service, confortable.
The bathes were very nice!.
Location is great.
It's a traditional japanese hotel. So you will get full experience
of sleeping on a futon and wearing a yukata.
The location is excellent.
We booked a double sized room but were put in a far smaller one. They did move us - but the room was still so small the two futons took up most of the space ! An interesting experience - once !.
I can't think of anything that wasn't fine with me! The single
room had no view but you'd expect that in many hotel rooms in
Tokyo anyway.
- the owner, elderly man, was very grumpy
- the rooms were a little bit smelly.
Room was nice but a little small. Needed more plugs to plug in my
computer, Phone, and Wi-fi hot spot. Needed more plugs or a power strip.
Wi-Fi connection was not strong enough.
my window gave on a wall, but i was only there to sleep!.
They need to ELIMINATE smoking in the lobby. Smokers can go outside or smoke in their rooms. 1 time, when I was using internet, a smoker was right behind which was highly irritating. But it only happened 1x when I was using internet in the lobby (thank goodness). Train stations have done it; when will hotels follow??.
Very spare room size. Difficult to move around with futons that
we're never folded/stored for the day.
some staff personnel doesn't speak English,.
Nothing much really. On one or two occasions, the owner was somewhat grouchy - but we managed to soften him with praise!.
only one thing, the water in the Onsen was at one day too extremely hot.
nothing.
That one has to vacate the hotel from 10am to 4pm.
Nothing.
Time for breakfast is quite short. Check-out time is too early.
Very small rooms, little Japanese atmosphere.
Room a little cramped.
small breakfast.
Duvet too warm.
A/C was a bit noisy.
There was no adequate airconditioning in ourroom.
The room is extra small. Because i'm asian I can still manage. To be
honest I don't know how a bigger person will fit in that such a
small room.
I had bedbugs in my room and was bitten many many times in the time that I stayed there. The front desk staff was very embarrassed and did refund me for half of my stay, but that doesn't change the 32 bites (and counting) that I received while there.
It is also annoying that you are required to leave the building between 10:30 and 3:00 while they clean. As it was raining, we wanted to come back and sit and have tea, but we weren't even allowed into the building.
