  Maria Elisabetta and Rodolfo are a wonderful young couple who take great care of their guests. The location of the Residenza is perfect (next to San Marco but away from the crowd, and not far away from the Castello area where the Biennale takes place and where there are plenty of great authentic restaurants). Breakfast - very good (choice of yoghurts, meat, cheese, bread, jam, juice, coffee, tea, etc.) Owner - intelligent, polite and friendly person with great sense of humor.   The hotel is just beautiful. It's a three hundred year old Palazzo that has been meticulously restored, with great attention to detail and luxury. Our room was quite outstanding - extremely " high tech" ( comment from our 21 year old who was very impressed!) combined with traditional, lavish furnishings - drapes, pelmets, wallpaper, furniture ; if... was die leute sagen » you are into design and interior decorating, this is the place! We felt very welcomed and " at home" in beautiful surroundings. The staff were incred - This hotel was our favorite from all of our hotels this trip. The location was perfect for walking everywhere and easy access from the water taxi at Rialto bridge....just remember to turn at the Disney store and you'll always find it! We did eat in the restaurant one night and it was very good. Our waiter was excellent and I'm pretty sure he is the only Italian waiter to have smiled at us our whole trip (no joke!) We also had a couples massage one evening. Though I would not say it is a "spa"

It is 5 minutes from st Marks Square so it was so easy to see the amazing sites there but was also very peaceful. The staff were friendly and helpful. I loved sitting on the little boat landing with my book and drink after a day sightseeing.
