  We were upgraded to a different residence - we had booked the San Domenico Residence but we slept in Badia Nuova Residence. The room was perfect for a couple with cooking possibilites. The house had been renovated recently and was very new and clean. We enjoyed our stay very much. The breakfast at the restaurant next door was also all one could wi... was die leute sagen » sh for. The location of Badia Nuova Residence is perfect: Very close to the old city center and only a 15 minute walk from the train station. - I stayed in this hotel with my husband and daughter we really enjoyed ourself - location was perfect.. Close to bars and restaurants and beach, we rented a car which made it all worth while!!! We will be back....

  Excellent!!! The host was young, nice and friendly, he really did care about us and our staying there. The rooms very clean and jolly, nice decorated and our apartment included a nice kitchen where we chose to have breakfast self cooked to enjoy it together. A little bit far from the city but cosy and relaxing. It was such a pitty we couldn;t spen... was die leute sagen » d more than a day there.a nice barbecue and a little olive orchard can be seen from your balcony. - The loaction may seem a little way-out but its a short walk to a good beach. The owner was really nice and helped us print our airline ticket in his house. There is a nice area for BBQ out the back, and a little retreat with hammocks. We would recommend this for a group of people to stay as the on-site bar/restaurant is a good place to chill. very comfortable altogether!

  My my, what a hard review to write. I can tell you now, that these photos or anything I write here, will not do this hotel justice. If you are looking at this hotel now however, give yourself a highfive, cause you have just found a gem. I have pretty much been raised in five star hotels and have seen them all. In our age with all the media tools we have available nothing is really left ope - Do not compare a 5* hotel in Sicily with a 5* hotel anywhere else in the world...Saying that, we had a lovely time despite some flaws, exploring the Etna region and playing golf on the oldest golf course in Sicily nearby (green fee reduction when you stay in the hotel). Make sure to visit Castiglione di Sicilia about 1/2 hr. away. Hotel is in a very quiet area in well kept grounds, perfect for a short break.   We stayed at Dimora Dei Frati for three nights, family of four, ( kids aged 6 & 9) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The B&B/hotel; is a beautiful old building restored to a very high standard, paying close attention to detail. It is very homely, immaculately clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Nice touches in the bedroom... was die leute sagen » such as fresh flowers and bath robes. Dominic who lived nearby was a charming, helpful and welcoming host who looked after us while we were there. Do - The hotel consists of only 3 rooms so is very private which gives it a very homely feeling. The place is brand new and located in a completely refurbished house and decorated in modern way, yet using tasteful combination of modern Italian design and antique furniture that works surprisingly well. The location is in the small village of Gratteri which is app 30 minutes drive from Cefalu via a good road through the hills.
