  Out of all the different options we had, we (3 friends) chose an apartment managed by Biriola Holiday - mainly because of the huge number of positive reviews. We were glad to be there in the low season, when Cala Gonone is almost empty (i.e. no tourists), - We traveled to Cala Gonone as a young couple and found Residence Biriola very easy to find. Upon arriving we were greeted by Bruno, the elder statesman of the residence, who was quite simply charming. He took us around, showed us the garden at the back and told us we could help ourselves to the fresh herbs and chillis.   The staff were so friendly they couldn't do enough for you. This is a lovely hotel very peaceful and in a perfect location if you are looking to chill out right on the beach front. The town centre of Villasimius is a two minute drive, it's a ten minute walk along a long straight road so you can't go wrong. They kept going the extra mile, always carrying a smile to make us feel welcome. The room was very well appointed, clean and comfortable. However, the highlight of our stay was the superb dining experience combining well presented delicious Sardinian specialties with classy service in a pleasant atmosphere. I almost forgot, the hotel is excellently located, right on the white sand beach.
