The sound of the waves on the beach below was great at night, and the train is far enough away not to be a problem. She has a lengthy family history - The location is AMAZING! We went to bed and awoke with the sounds the waves. The sunrise was to die for. We had a very delayed train ride (common in Italy) and were surpised by two things. 1. After calling Elisabetta, the keys were in our door with an nice post it saying our names. It was a great touch at 1am. 2.The place was very easy to find even for the directionaly challenged. The city itself was most amazing.   The location was great -- very close to the train station and easy to wheel our luggage to the Tonino Basso. The site is quite secure: a locked front door, a locked door to the floor; and a locked room. The staff was very friendly and English-speaking (Jodie, an American from San Diego). Vernazza is tiny -- ess - Excellent place to stay in Vernazza and Cinque Terre in general. Some people may get scared off by the location on the map looking like it a ways up the village - don'T. The village is tiny and it is perfectly situated 2 minutes walking from the train station. At night, it is a bit quieter and nice to retreat to. Also, the building we were told has the only elevator in Vernazza - great for your luggage. Room was clean, comfortable and all you really need.   The location could not have been better! Only 30 steps from the main street, and 4 minutes from the train station. Very close to the harbour without the "traffic" of tourists. The apartment was spacious, clean, well equipped and had a roof terrace with even a sea view!! And Vernazza the best of the Cinque Terre towns! - Rina was really nice! the room is cozy and the location is fantastic! the bed is comfortable. For the breakfast, you get yogurts, jams, melba toasts, coffee that you make yourself in the machine, and lots of milk (so you can use the milk foamer and make yourself a latte) and iced tea - it is really perfect if you go to the market and get a few fresh fruits and some cheese to supplement it! very clean. decent washroom with a good shower.

  Francamaria rooms went above and beyond for my husband and I from beginning to end. We arrived in Vernazza 5 hours before check-in and even so, our room was clean and ready! Our hosts provided plenty of great tips and pieces of advice for things to do and see in the area, which was helpful. Francamaria Rooms went above and beyond and arranged for our iPad to be shipped back to the US for us! Two thumbs - Hotel location is excellent, just few mintues away from Vernazza train station. We notify the hotel when we arrived and the owner came to pick us from the train station and lead us to our room. The room is clean and really cosy with a balcony.
