A good 20 min walk from the Pisa Tower, Cathedral and the local old town, but wa - Owner Chiara was fantastic, always amenable and helpful, bright smile, friendly, and always found the time for you. Hotel staff were unobtrusive and kept the rooms spotless. Little things like changing the towels twice and the bed once for a three night stay are things not found in some 3 & 4 star hotels. Full marks for the Moderno, a 2 star hotel, with a 4 star service and a 5 star owner. - Strategic position: walking distance from station and airport; the staff was helpful; room was clean, had AC, TV and free wi-fi. I had to stay there for one night, and take a flight the day after and I paid a small price for a room with a shared bathroom, but ended up using the bathroom by myself, as they put me in a floor where everyone else had their own en-suite. Staff is there 24-hour a day.

  The location was great opposite the railway station, however you heard no noise from the trains. The receptionist who booked us in was very friendly and accommodating and we were allowed to check in and our room was ready at 1100 hours in the morning. There was 24 hour security with video cameras so felt perfectly safe. - What I liked most is that hotel was very very near to Pisa Centrali station. We didn't spend any time in locating it. We stayed 2 nights, and drove in to Rome and then back. Tiring, but I looked forward to getting back to our room. Would go back again!
