Guesthouse Helga Reykjavík - Fotos
Was die Leute sagen
We stayed twice in Helga Guesthouse - at the beginning and end of our trip to Iceland. It is very clean and very well organised, the kitchen has everything you might need and the owner keeps it spotless. Our room was spacious and cosy. The owner is extremely helpful and went out of his way to my our stay a good experience. E.g. when we arrived late and tired he made a dinner for my young son to spare us a trip to a restaurant. He even helped my son to put his boots on! He is also a taxi driver . alle bewertungen »
Herman, the owner, is incredibly kind, helpful, and warm. We arrived at
1:30am, and he took the time to show us how the bus system worked, maps
of the city, and main attractions. He helped us find restaurants, and
figure out organization for day trips. He even knows all of the cool
ipad apps that tell you bits of information that help for getting around
Reykjavik. As for the actual place, the cooking facilities are
immaculately clean, as well as the bathroom. Our room was comfortable,
plenty of.
Spotlessly clean. Probably the cleanest guest house I've seen in
Iceland and I've been to quite a few. Good kitchen and bathroom
facilities. The single room I stayed in was compact but had everything I
needed. Friendly owner who was eager to help, and who even emailed me
when I left something behind in the room after check out. The location
is a peaceful residential area just outside the centre.
the welcoming of their guests in a very nice, warmhearted, discrete, cool, sweet and relaxed cosy way is THE assets of this great place to stay in Iceland. Ideal for evenings and day wishes to discover the amazing city of reykyavik and to circle around in the outskirts and days excursions. Best quality/price report in a very good standard of accommodation. Highlhy recommended.
The hospitality, room, well equiped kitchen complete with coffee & tea, shared bathroom equiped with great shower and all sorts of shampoo/conditioner/soap/hairdryer, etc. We felt the value was great (relative to Iceland). The location for us was fine as we weren't looking to go out partying in Reyk. but may not be convenient if that's what you're wanting.
The owner was very welcoming and friendly. He helped us with some tips
on our next destination, the forecast etc. We arrived very late but
still could get in without any problems. The facilities were great, the
house was very warm and homely. Everything was arranged for the
convenience and comfort of the guests. I can highly recommend the place!.
We liked:
1. The place was clean and room quite big and cosy.
2. We could turn on the heater even when it wasn't too cold outside (but rainy and wet) to dry our clothes.
3. The kitchen was very well-equipped - you could use everything there and make a good dinner for yourself.
4. The owner was friendly.
The owner, Hermann, is a great and helpful guy. The guesthouse itself is ideal - clean and well managed. Parking place was available and wifi worked perfectly. Also there is a very good restaurant close to the guesthouse, about 10 minutes walk - calles Lauga'as. Ask Hermann for direction.
The owner was very nice and helpful. He helped us very much with our problems. Bathroom and kitchen were extremely clean and of good quality, the room is warm, the garden is beautiful, there is a private parking in the site.
This is an excellent guesthouse with extremely friendly and helpful hosts.
The room and all facilities were immaculate and the home is located in a beautiful part of the city not too far from the center. I walked every day.
It was our first night in Iceland. A very warm welcome by Herman, to a very new modern guesthouse. Very clean and a wonderfully arranged and equipped kitchen. The room was good. Towels upon request.
I Strongly recommend!.
Very friendly and helpful host, comfortable rooms, clean bathroom, kitchen complete with everything you could need, restaurants and grocery stores nearby. We would definitely stay here again!.
Most friendly people ever in a guesthouse! Proper rooms, beautiful well equipped kitchen and laying in a very calm area close to the center and swimmingpool of Reykjavik.
Absolute cleanness. Owners extremely helpful and polite. Great kitchen and bathroom with stuff, you usually do not get in guesthouses.
The owner, Hermann, was really welcoming and very helpful when we arrived. The swimming pool just down the road is well worth a visit.
Friendly helpful owner, very clean comfortable place & good kitchen facilities. Large driveway to park on.
The owners Herman and Helga were very carrying and helped everybody as much as they could.
The rooms were clean and cozy. The owners were wonderful people and extremely helpful.
Very friendly, clean, good advise on seeing iceland, good area,
great kitchen,.
Wonderful hosts. Great Value. Very Comfortable facility. Highly recommended.
very well kept
simple but thought-through
very friendly and helpful.
Very comfortable accommodation, and extremely helpful host!.
We liked everything, it felt like visiting friends.
Very helpful staff, very clean.
Good price for Reykjavik.
Bus runs only every 30 min outside of rush hour but it is very punctual so you can time your trips using the schedules posted on each stop.
There is only 1 bathroom, which is no problem at all most of the time,
but can be a little difficult on mornings when the guesthouse is full.
the recommended restaurant wasn't great but otherwise we were very, very pleased.
No towels were provided as the owners presumed that we should have them.
To be fair, we did not insist on getting them. Still, considering the
high level of comfort and hospitality, the absence of towels was
slightly disappointing.
1. Having one bathroom (together with toilet) is clearly too few for 4 rooms in the mornings. If the rooms weren't all occupied, it was OK, but when the guesthouse was full, one had to wait to get to the toilet for some time (as someone may have been showering), so you always had to give extra time in order to be ready to leave.
2. We could open only 1 small window in our room to get some fresh air.
Only one bathroom shared between 4 rooms. Without a car it's difficult to find something to eat: there a no supermarket around, the only one cafe in the Botanical Garden is too expensive.
Only one bathroom for all guests.
A little outside the city center (30 mins walking or so), but a nice walk or a quick bus ride and you're there.
Nothing, really nothing at all!.
3 km from a city center may be bit to far.
nothing;.
A bit far from the center of Reykjavik, but easily connected by bus lines. Beautiful neighborhood makes a nice trade-off.
Shared bathroom.
Unfortunately not very close from the city and if you don't have
a car you have to take a taxi that will cost arount 16 usd one way to
go in town.
