  We chose to stay at Phidias Piraeus because we needed a hotel close to the port seeing we were taking a ferry at 7:25 am. Well they were wonderful! First, we got there early from our other location and we needed to get our rental car back to downtown Athens. They had no problem in letting us leave our luggage there while we took our car back. 'W - This is an excellent hotel. It has been recently refurbished, so both our room and the public areas were clean and modern. The friendly staff were courteous and very efficient at their jobs. We were welcomed with a small bottle of wine and given advice about local restaurants and shops. The hotel is located in a nice safe part of Piraeus, near the marina, shops and many restaurants. Very clean, quiet and well designed the pool area was fabulous, the owners some of the nicest people we have ever met, and the beach less than a 4 min walk away even for a 4 year old. The poo - Yianni & Dimitris are the best hosts you could ever wish to meet .We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Nothing was to much trouble . The quality ( and quantity ) of Dimitris food would be difficult to beat anywhere and with the great food and relaxed atmosphere dining was always a pleasure. We have previously stayed in a place the other side of Skala but much preferred staying at Sunrise studios. The couple who run the place are very friendly and helpful.   This was a well taken-care of hotel, stylish and the manager was very polite and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Our room was spacious considering the small rooms that are usually available in Hydra and had plenty of sunlight and good view of the mountain.   We stayed at Christines in June and we liked it a lot. The flat was big and light, nice balcony with sea view and very clean. It's located near the beach. Just go downhill:) We had a good meal at the beachrestaurant Kaspeli. The beach was very quiet on weekdays. Two grosory stores is lokated near by on the same streat. 1,5 km away there is a smal... was die leute sagen » l meat shop. The harbour is 2 km away where there is a lot of restaurants and shops. Taxi from harbour to Christines costs 5 euros. Might be good to t - The family who run the studios are so friendly, warm and kind. My room was cleaned everyday by a lovely maid, my towels replenished, sheets changed. My studio was spotless and so comfortable. The studios were quiet and it was an ideal place to relax and unwind. Askeli is a lovely small resort, only a half an hour walk from the port of Poros. I would definitely come back again and would recommend this stay to anyone!!
