- To use elevator you have to go one floor down. With painfull knee that was unpleasant surprise. - There are no reading lights in the beds.
The location is really nice, since you can have lots of fun in the nearby: there are lots of bars and restaurants out there. And the Monastriraki square is 10 mins' walking distance.
Difficult to find at the first time, and maybe you will be horrified by the graffiti. But actually it is a safe area.

We booked the balcony room with a view of the Acropolis, and it was wonderful. We fjoyed a neatly appointed room complete with cooking ring and espresso machine. Because of the proximity to excellent local restaurants, we ate out every night, but put the espresso machine to good use. City Circus puts out a fantastic breakfast every morning, choosing ingredients and products from local sources.
The building itself is in a neighborhood that is transitioning from a former red-light district into an artists' haven. We liked it, but the neighborhood would not be to everyone's liking as it can be a little rough.
This hostel is way beyond my expectation. It's super super clean, nicely designed and managed. The mattress for the bunk bed is good quality and very comfortable. Bathroom is even cleaner than what's in my own apartment. Staff are very friendly. He explained to me for 20 minutes on the map what trips I can take to go around Athens. There is a free laptop in the common area for use. The free breakfast is basics but the fruit Greek yogurt is yummy. Considering the budget price, it's good value for money. The location is close to all the shops, train stations and restaurants. At night avoid walking to the neighborhood in the north which looks a bit of nasty. But otherwise there are shops around and I felt safe.
The lights in the bathroom go off automatically after a few minutes so sometimes I was left dark inside. They are apparently not sound controlled lights. I didn't figure out the trick how to keep them on.

Located in a very cool area close to main sights, food and nightlife. The hostel has a great design and theme, is very comfortable and clean. The staff is amazing, helping with everything from tours (walking tour is recommended) to eating recommendations and luggage storage. This is one of the best hostels we've stayed at and will definitely stay again next time in Athens.

The area, even though many describe it as dangerous, isnt!!! Three theater, two bars, delicious bakery, liquer store.....all withinga hand reach

Being solo traveler, I preferred to hostel to socialize.However, I could not get the fun hostel environment, what I came for. Also, room-mates made lots of noise when packing at 4AM. However, none of these complaints are related with Hotel services.
City circus was my base in Athens when I was travelling around Greece and my experience there was better than in any other. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the mattresses are very comfortable, everything is sparkling clean, the breakfasts has everything you would want from a load of homemade jams, to fruits, muesli, toast, coffee, juice, greek yoghurt... the wifi works at a great speed everywhere... the lobby is structured in a way that encourages interaction between travelers rather than separation... and it's only moments away from Monasteraki Square. I couldn't recommend this place any higher.

The one tiny thing is that I wish I can boil water by myself and don't have to ask the staff to do so every time I need not water for tea. But this is just personal.

the rooms get very hot because the airconditioning only works if someone is there. The one bathroom (shower + toilet) per room can be annoying.
I love how friendly the staff were and how clean the environment are. The people were amazing and their surprising rooftop (which I did not know) was the highlight
Loved this hostel. Open area was inviting, modern, design-conscious and the staff was so welcoming. The beds were comfy, the toilets clean (shared was not for the whole floor but for our roomies only). Free walking tour was nice and free!
I'm a guy and they put me in an all-female room. The girls were not happy to have paid extra but since i'm not a douche all was ok :) the neighbourhood is visually not appealing but nowhere near the ghetto. Felt safe and really liked the vibe of the cafes and restos here. Dont let the graffiti put you off Psilo.

The staff at City Cirus was amazing and really friendly. The hostel felt more like a hotel and was clean and comfortable! At first the area looks sketchy but once you start walking around you realize you are in a great area surround by food and nightlife. It is also really close to the metro so you can get to and from the airport and anywhere else easy. Id definitely stay at City Circus again and tell everyone I know to stay here as well!!
This hostel is absolutelly great and I would recommend it to anybody without any hesitation. It is clean. I was staying in room for 6 and we had a bathroom for the six of us only! The hostel is located perfectly - in young developing are with very vivid night life and all the sights are walking distance. And as a bonus the young greek athmosphare is breathing at you on every corner!
The location is good, just several minutes away from the metro station.The staff there are very nice. They gave us very valuable recommendation. We can also print out our ferry tickets for free. The building is traditional. The dining room is spacious. The breadfast is lovely.

Cheap and efficient laundry service. Decent continental breakfast. Excellent view from the rooftop to the acropolis. Walking distance to most tourist attractions (roughly 10-15mins). Elevator access to most levels.
Wifi didn't work well in the rooms though if used in the common area the wifi is readily available and extremely quick! Also if you pay by card for your accommodation it's an extra 2% surcharge.

They will charge you 1euro when you keep your luggage there after check out, even couple of hours only...

Excellent location, nice chilled out feel, super helpful and friendly staff. We stayed in 2 different rooms as we needed to extend our stay. The first 2 nights we stayed in the budget double. It was small but perfectly formed, no complaints! Breakfast is also very good and overall it feels more like a boutique hotel than a hostel. The roof terrace has a fantastic view.
The second two nights we were in the loft and although it is much larger we prefered the basic room. The roof terrace is public space so people congregate outside the room, the finishes in the room are not as modern and the Wifi signal is really bad.
It worth for the price. Especially for the interior decoration, simple but thoughtful at the same time. So close to sight-seeing spots such as the Ancient Agora. Breakfast also included. The staffs are far beyond great, they give u reliable suggestions and even teach beer homemaking class every month. Large space for mingle, good for sharing travel infos between youths. I definitely will come back next time.

The place is new, very clean, and I liked the interior design and the selection of furniture and details. A very unformal and friendly atmoshere. The breakfast was nice and the room simply decoratad, clean and comfortable. It was actually even bigger then I expected from the pictures.
We were there on a sunday night and there was a noisy street party down the street untill late, but that probably doesn't happen very often.
