The 6th generation, family owned hotel and restaurant, with a nice warm German country-side flair, in the heart of the scenic wine growing Rheinland, was just what we had hoped for. The owners, who we now call friends, were there for our every need and even gave us a private tour and tasting in their historic wine cellar. Gasthof Krancher is not a 5 star hotel and we were not expecting it to be, but it is perfect for people who don`t want to spend a small fortune and still be comfortable and .
alle bewertungen » Although the hotel was slightly out of town we had read the trains could be a problem if staying in the centre. Having seen how frequently the trains ran at night we were pleased we opted for this hotel. Location was quiet and not too far to walk although all up hill on the way back. Staff friendly and helpful on advising us where to go. Breakfast included - overall good value and a comfortable stay. The food, the wine, the courtyard for dining and meeting, the view which was breath-taking, the quiet of the countryside, the owners-charming. Please consider adding "spiritual" to your list of descriptions. We were there to visit the St. Hildegard Abbey which was just up the road and we could hear the bells from our room. I will be back!. Very nice place just a little way out of the centre of Rudesheim. Very cosy, spacious room. Friendly staff. Fresh and tasty breakfast with lots of choice. Delicious wine (they make it themselves & you can buy, at a very reasonable price, to take with you) . We also ate our evening meal there & would definitely recommend it. We found the staff friendly and very helpful. Our room really nice with the balcony.The lady who did the room we could not have asked for better it was always very clean.We would not hesitate to stay there again. With the outstanding views and countryside not forgetting the Abby we had a very pleasurable holiday. Free parking & breakfast. Friendly staff. Location near the ferry as well as main road running along the Rhine River. Sweet room overlooking a street. Bed very comfortable. This hotel is very, very clean and extremely well maintained. It definitely has a family owned feel to it who obviously take great pride in their hotel. Perfect location. Out of Rhudesheim itself but within easy reach. Well appointed rooms and the owner was always ready to help with any minor needs. Everyone was friendly, the hotel was clean and the room was large. The place is really nice in a beautifull area and staff were really helpfull. we liked the excellent beds, nice breakfast, tasty dinner, price. Friendly familie-estate. Typical German. very nice people, very nice food. It was tucked away from the main township, and beautiful location in the wine growing region. The breakfast was fantastic, and it has a lovely beer garden. The beds, lack of washcloths (but this is typical of such Gasthaüser), scarce parking spaces (maybe not their fault). No complaints what-so-ever. Room with wicker furniture & small TV. This was fine for our one night stay but unusual for what we were spoiled with, but even this was OK. Nothing worth mentioning. The bathroom was a little small and the lighting was not bright enough in the bathroom. Wi fi signal was weak and sometimes dropped out. Very hot so air-conditioning or fans in the rooms would have been good. Menu not in English. Wifi a bit flaky. I would have liked the staff to be a little more chatty. They were however friendly. Bar very poorly stocked, surely other nationalities drink whiskey?. Wifi service spotty. Not usable from room, had to use public areas. The breakfast was not so rich. The location is a bit far from the city centre. No parking guaranteed, limited number of parking spot and if you don't find one you have to find in the other streets (not so easy). our room was rather warm (outside temperature was 31 C) and the shower is small and basic but adequate. No Hair-drier available in the room. facility is a bit too old, and the hotel is a bit far from the city center. Tiny rooms. We were a family of 4 and the biggest room could barely fit 3 of us and with our bags in the room it was so tight that it felt like there wasn't even space to breathe, so we hadto rent an extra room for the night. The rooms are very dated and the bathroom is so small there is barely room to move. On a hot summers day it was very cramped and hot, and not ideal for a family with small children.
