One of the original hotels first opened in Chamonix! Still owned by the same family with the owner living in a cute chateau on the premises. It has views of Monte Blanc and the river too. Balconies with room for table and chairs, all set in a cozy mountain cabin atmosphere, with modern touches and updated accommodations (relaxing living room with a big stone fireplace, with a smaller areas of wooden chairs and tables for playing card or games or using the computer, also a billiards room, exe.
alle bewertungen » We really enjoyed our stay in this cosy hotel. The staff were very helpful and they upgraded our room for free because we traveled with our little daughter. The room is really nice, spacious, with a balcony with a wonderful view over the mountains, Chamonix and the river. The hotel is actually by the river and it is in a very nice location in Chamonix, by the main pedestrian road but in a quiet place. An extra plus is the available parking on site. We would recommend the hotel to anyone travell. The staff were very, very friendly and helpful. Always greeting with a smile. The location of the hotel was just a 200m walk away from the main city street, where there are plentiful shops and restaurants/bars. Didn't manage to use the sauna and fitness facilities though. The room we stayed had a nice little patio where you can look out at the mountains and enjoy the view. Lovely hotel with great environment for a nice holiday. Staff and management offered an excellent service. Breakfast was fantastic with the excellent bread on offer and the home made jams etc. Would recommend it definitely to anyone and would not think twice about spending another holiday there. Just like a chalet in the rooms. The walls in the rooms were a little thin and you can hear the neighbouring rooms' tv. The bathroom could use with a curtain or screen to prevent the floor from getting wet. No complaints!. Small room but adequate. One of our rooms (Room 3) was very noisy, particularly at night. There were what sounded like water pipes running at all hours of the night and day and hindered sleeping. There was nothing to dislike. nothing... Not a complaint, as we went out to eat, but the evening menu was limited to a fixed 5 course meal. We were only looking for one course and would have liked to have given the hotel our custom. A heated ski boot rack would have been a bonus but the boot room was warm and secure with free lockable racks for skis & poles. Wifi was slow. One windy night shutters banging kept us awake (probably on neighbouring buildings.) Rather a confusing warren of passages upstairs. Room was small, balcony was small. I think they had larger rooms, we probably chose standard to save money. A bit of noise from the room upstairs. Everything was great. maybe it bit expensive with the breakfast. Rooms could be a bit bigger but for ski resort perfectly adequate. No hot running water available at 7am! Not good enough. The fact that the restaurant had been closed for evening dinner was frustrating as no mention of this was made on hotel's web site. Hotel needs some tender loving care in parts. Hard to get to the place especially in the evening. Instructions are not clear enough. nothing. Nothing. Internet connection in room didn't work properly!. Breakfast adequate but just ok. internet speed was slow. nothing to remark. Nothing. Wifi a little slow and limited. Nothing. Nothing.
