The courtyard style hotel was lovely with lots of traditional features. We stayed in November so it was too cold sit in the courtyard but instead w had drinks in front of a log fire. It's in a great location down a hutong alleyway. Staff were very helpful and provided an English guide on sights, restaurants and bars. We had dinner in 2 of the rest

The staff in the reception speaks english very well, the attitude is so friendly and explain the city very well including a city map with clearly indications.
They give us a present for our anniversary, a cake and a letter. The room was perfect with very nice details and well decorated. The situation is very near the city centre and the external áreas of the hotel are very comfortable, nice and well design.

We were immediately upgraded at no extra cost due to no availability of non smoking room. The reception and conciege staff were excellent and very cooperative. The hotel was decorated in old style china, great if you want the feel of stepping back in time.The rooms were clean and tidy and the gardens and buildings are very picturesque. Staying here puts you in the centre of a real chinese community, all the people were friendly and if you are a westerner you will draw a few glances.
