  Although I had read mixed reviews, I booked Trails for the value. I actually found the motel to be very clean and comfortable, and a bargain for the money ($65 per night on the weekend). The front desk clerk was efficient if not particularly friendly, but the facilities were clean and convenient to Mt. Whitney and Death Valley.
