this was our first visit to the lamplighter we were very impressed with the friendliness of all the staff we arrived with our 2 cavalier dogs who were made a big fuss of we also were asked if we wanted to eat in a separate room so the dogs could be with us which we declined as they are more than happy to stay in their sleeping crate .the breakfast was superb as were the meals in the restaurant at night initially we were only going to eat in there one night but it was so good we ate every nig.
所有评语 » The innkeepers were charming! The hotels rooms newly decorated and the kingsize beds very comfortable with lovely pillows. The breakfast was also particularly delicious, with fresh juices, Greek yogurt with berry compote for example. They accommodated well for special vegetarian requests, even going out for veggie sausage for us for our second day's breakfast. Well done and thank you for a fantastic stay! Mr and Mrs Ryan. Great location in Windermere near to the railway station, shops and restaurants. Also within easy reach of Bowness on Windermere, with more shops, restaurants and the lake. The accommodation was nice. We had a refurbished deluxe double room with a large bathroom. The breakfasts were excellent. The staff were friendly. Good value for money. Staff from moment we got there were fantastic and couldnt do enough for you,food was excellent value,never had a sunday lunch like it. Huge to say the least, but the waiter was quite happy to put rest in fridge for a snack. Very close to windermere train station for getting around.Would stay again but would request different room. We liked the location it was convenient for walks and a good walk into Bowness which we wanted. All the staff were very helpfull nothing was too much trouble and a lovely touch were the Easter eggs and welcome card. Room and all the hotel was spotless and the meals were superb it will be my first choice when I revisit Windermere. The Lamplighter was very welcoming, we had a lovely room,huge bed extra pillows if required. Breakfast was very nice, served on extremely hot plates which is brilliant!! We were lucky enough to be there to experience the curry night and subsequent folk evening, both were great. We hope to return soon. Six of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lamplighter. The location was very convenient, staff were really welcoming and helpful, rooms were clean and fresh and the food was delicious and better than value for money! We will definitely pay The Lamplighter another visit...very soon!. Very friendly, very clean and comfortable, execellent location. It was easter weekend and there was an easter card and easter eggs left in the room which really was a lovely touch. Would defintley recommend this hotel and would defintley stay there again. Fabulous weekend. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The service was also excellent and we were well looked after. The food at both dinner and breakfast was first class with a great choice and variety. Our room was tastefully decorated with a king-sized bed and smart en-suite. The location. It is really less than 5 minute walk from the railway station. The breakfast. It is freshly cooked and sufficiently wide choice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was airy, bright and clean. They also serve very good though pricey dinner. The staff could not do enough for me and my partner, we were able to take my dog and she was as welcome as we were. The food was brilliant esp Sunday roast and breakfast. Was close to all the local attractions, Definitely will be returning. Good value for money, close to station and local amenities, although about mile and half from lake - downhill! Even if we didn't fancy eating in the lavish dining room, the location meant we were still close to other, less expensive evening meal options. A dog-friendly hotel which welcomed pets - at no extra charge. A centrally located hotel which was ideal for touring. The staff were very helpfull when one of our party was taken ill on the night of our stay at the hotel taken to hospital but brought back early hours of the morning thank you to all staff from mr mrs b robinson. The Lamplighter was a great friendly place to stay, the room was lovely with great views of the town itself, couldn't fault the breakfast or the staff, would recommend it to anyone staying in Windermere. The hotel was very good value for money. The room was bright and clean with a good size bathroom. the breakfast menu was comprehensive and the food well prepared. Hotel location, room size, furnishings, cleanliness, common areas, staff, restaurant. we could not find anything negative to say about the lamplighter. Nothing- it was a lovely stay!. Busy road outside the hotel. There was no bar or restaurant available during our two night stay but we found nice restaurants in Bowness on Windermere, which is within walking distance. Stayed in room number 7, the room was clean,few stains on carpet didnt look nice had been reb and was above kitchen so when window was open you could smell the cooking, also staff were smoking below and could smell the after smoke.had been refurbished but just lacked the finishing touches. Road noise, but that's not the fault of the , we're just not situated on a busy road at home, would still visit again. Our rooms were slightly chilly. Weak wifi. The parking was limited at times, only space for about 6 cars but could get away with parking out of a allotted space. We booked here partly because we had an excellent meal here a couple of years ago. We were looking forward to the evening meal.We had been given menus on arrival, and had made our choices. Arrived downstairs at 7pm, and everything was closed! no bar, no food, and no-one had told us - massive disappointment. Though the rooms have clearly been nicely revamped recently, the old windows in our room didn't block the noise of the busy nearby road. (After a few days walking, this was no longer an issue!). One of the room's radiator wasn't working and the room felt cold in the evening and morning. The luxury double room is front facing, on two major roads, one of hich is uphill, and there is a lot of traffic noise from early morning. Neither of the problems spoiled our stay. Car parking was OK but could be an issue if busy. Nothing at all. Only one slight problem as the radiator didn't work making the room chilly the 1st night, saw the staff the next day who were very apologetic and provided us with a heater making the stay very enjoyable. perhaps at least one nights entertaiment. Lack of storage and draws for clothes in hotel room. we only booked for 3 nights, wish it was longer. a little too far from the lakeside, too long a walk in the very hot weather we experienced during our stay back up to the hotel, otherwise every thing was ideal. nothing. Only small complaint is the room was a bit cold at times - just keep the heating on low when you head out. The climb to the top floor. Struggled to get wi-fi anywhere in the hotel. Had upgraded till system and presented wrong bill. Didn't call back with correct details but still debited bank account. Cannot fault. Most pleasantly satisfied with all aspects!. Lack of facilities in room i.e. hairdryer, shelf in bathroom and tea/coffee. Evening menu prices a bit steep. Lack of proper reception area. Delay in being greeted when we arrived. Nothing. Nothing. The shower - badly installed, loose on the wall, and little pressure. There was no lounge where perhaps you could have had coffee and maybe chatted with other guests. (we would stay there again). The room we stayed in was on the road side therefore was quite noisy at times. Very small point -More variety breakfast. Maybe fish?. shower was a tight squeeze to get into.rooms were hot. Shower water pressure although useable, could have been better. The bar and pub prices in the whole of Windermere. There was nothing to dislike. We had 2 rooms. There was a very limited amount of tea & coffee we had to ask for more. I didn't like the coffee bag. We had biscuits on the first day in one room & none on the second day. The other room didn't have biscuits at all. Only little things I know but these things do make a difference. No reception. Low water pressure in shower.
