Comfy beds, nice clean room, pleasant bar. The hotel is a lot better than it looks - the staff make the most of what is a slightly run-down establishment. I was only there for one evening, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was help yourself but had quite a good choice of food. The staff are always very friendly towards me. I stay here very regularly. I honestly won't stay anywhere else while visiting Wigan now.

The breakfast is served to early for me. No restaurant as advertised. No English Breakfast . The hotel kitchen currently closed so nowhere to get food from and only continental brekky. They did however alow you to order food in if wanted. No issues. YOU did not indicate that there were flights of stairs and no lift. The staff weren't actually at the hotel, we had to ring them and wait for them to come open the door for us. Breakfast to early. TV in the bar could clearly be heard in the room. Room badly in need of a refurb. Carpet badly marked. No stand-up shower, had to shower in bath. Tap on basin was loose. Tap knob on bath came off as retaining nut was missing. Back was hanging off bidet. One window would not close fully and another had cracked glass, so was glad I was not travelling with family. No bedside cabinet. Unable to turn off lights from bed. No cooked option for breakfast. Unfortunately not everything has been renovated but you are given options as has just been taken over!. our bathroom ceiling leaked and no one cared! Breakfast was super budget from the local tesco. the shower very dated, handle on bathroom broken with jagged edges also the breakfast, didn't realise it wouldn't be cooked. I know wigan very well was born, brought up here. Floor in dining room is very unsafe, think that it was only the carpet holding it together, could easily fall over, no good for children or elderly people. No food in the evening, even though advertised, so went to the pub over the road and the food and service was apauling. Room needed some finishing work, a few holes in woodwork etc. noisy public bar. Heating wasn't on in room. Bathroom very small. Shower wasn't great, shower door very stiff. Uneven floor. No early breakfast at weekend 8.30 earliest, no good when you have business at 8.00am. Only a bar of soap in the room. Should have at least shower gell, shampoo and a box of tissues. Stated breakfast but there was no cooked breakfast. The decor was VERY shabby The shower head was hanging off the wall A 240 volt striplight was INSIDE the shower curtain The only ventilation was a small window overlooking the main road. Very dated décor. especially the bathroom. Poor selection for breakfast. Our room smelt bad and it was not clean. Hotel was very aged and drab... room was very basic. Windows did not close .. bathroom cold and drab.. rooms noisy.. hallways smelt of cigarette even though it was supposedly non smoking..in comparison to other hotels we stayed at for same price through letsbookhotel.com this rated a major fail. Water is cold shower.
