Breakfast good, decent choice and well cooked (poached eggs were nicely done) Carvery was good, again decent food. Overall very pleasant and excellent value for money. Better then your Premier Inns! If you are looking for 4* no its not but it is a very decent 3* hotel.

  My double room for single occupancy was fine but compact, quiet and well equipped, with lots of tea & coffee. Shower room also compact but adequate with a good shower, fluffy towels and real soap. The hotel's prices are unbeatable. - The room and en suite were more than adequate for my needs. The staff were VERY friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the best laid out breakfast I have had in a long time. It was nice to have my cooked breakfast brought to me. Many "posh" hotels have breakfast buffets these days.I hope the Claxton sticks with its personal service.
