Everything about The Kite Inn made it a home away from home and a fabulous place for our stay in Oxford. Location: It's in a quiet neighborhood, a 5-minute walk from the train station and a 10-minute walk to the city centre and attractions. Room and services: Compared to similarly-priced lodgings in Oxford and the UK in general, our room was palatial. It was huge, with 2 comfy beds, an armoire, a large table with a monitor for telly as well as room for our stuff, other amenities, and plenty of .
所有评语 » This is no ordinary B & B but a century old pub situated in a quiet residential area, 5 minutes from the train station and 10 from the city centre, with friendly helpful staff and excellent food at a good price. I stayed two nights and had intended going into the city for the evenings but ate and drank in the pub instead, great food and cask ales I really enjoyed it - even the locals were friendly! I was there for research at a University college a mile or two away and it was raining so the. Rooms were exceptionally clean. We enjoyed the Inn's bar and food one evening. The food was great and the breakfast offering was well done. Would recommend guests eat at the Inn. The bar was reasonably priced and had a good selection of beers and ales. The location of Inn made it easy to walk from the train station to the room. It was easy to locate on the map. Our room was right above the pub and it was very quiet. The beds were very comfortable and towels, robes, etc. great. I would here wit. After enduring a long journey before arriving at the hotel, it was so nice to see such clean rooms with towels and dressing gown. Even though you have to share the toilet and shower room, they were very clean and the shower was hot and powerful which we needed after a long flight. Such good location regarding the train station and high street and we were looked after very well. Would definitely recommend!. A few minutes walk from the train station and the city centre, a pub below, friendly staff, large rooms and full English breakfast in the morning. What more could you ask for?! We only stayed for one night but the owner and everyone working in the pub were very friendly and easy to chat to. Our room was very clean and spacious. All in all, a very good place to stay when in Oxford. Despite the use of a shared bathroom, I gave this hotel a 5-star rating. Everything is meticulously taken care of, the beddings are spotlessly clean...The delicious full English breakfast is heavenly, many thanks to the handsome Chef. Paul, the Manager, also very handsome, has done a great job with his excellent team in making this hotel so memorable and popular... Location is excellent. It is just A few minutes walk from train station but also nice and quiet in its own. Room is spacious and also clean and tidy. Shared bathroom is also clean, shampoo and body wash are also provided. Bed is excellent, better than many 5 star hotel in this regard. Breakfast is ok though not outstanding like other aspects. Highly recommended. the staff were all lovely from the chef to the cleaning staff to the ladies behind the bar. They made our stay wonderful. We were in Oxford for a wedding and they were all so helpful in explaining where things were. Nothing was to much trouble and I am already planning my next trip with the girls for a weekend of shopping and exploring. THANK YOU. The staff were great - very friendly. There are extremely comfy beds with lovely warm duvets. Very clean, large, bright room. Shared bathroom wasn't a problem - never had to wait and was very clean. Friendly owner, liked the fact he carried our bags up, explained the facilities, breakfast times erc. Very impressed that when we asked where the Town Hall was he took the trouble to give us a msp with the route highlighted. Good breakfast, even in a oub no noise at all. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The Manager went all out to help us and even drove us personally to the laundry shop as he was afraid that we might have problem finding the way. Very friendly, good value, comfortable, well situated, good pub. This was exactly what we wanted as a stay in an old Pub/Inn. Not much but be ready to climb one or two narrow stairs and you should know there are no en-suite facilities but a bathroom with shower and toilet on each floor and they do provide a bathrobe to cross the landing in. Not complaints just so you know and you won't be disappointed. Normally having a water closet in the room is a must. This Inn did not but it did not turn out to be an issue. We never saw anybody and they keep the rooms and shared facilities very clean. This should not deter anyone from staying here. Unless you close the curtains and darken the room you have no privacy from the houses across the road. So white netted curtains may be a good idea to have over the windows to give that little bit of privacy especially when getting dressed. Lacking ensuites... Faultless, other than the shared bathroom. Was not a problem unless you need the toilet in the night. It is a very old building though and something that can't be changed so no fault of the place. Some road noise (not double glazed - room was very warm though) but not much. Nothing really, I would have preferred an en suite bathroom but as it was we had sole use. I was a little nervous being led through the dark pub and through the dingy back door. But the comfy room at the top of the stairs was well worth it. Sharing a single toilet and bath is awkward in the morning. A second sink apart from the tub would be welcome. The carpet is a bit threadbare in the halls. Parking is difficult during the day. -The room was not very soundproof: all the noise from the corridor was disturping (I was lucky: had noisemaking neighbours only during the last night).- Every guest did not know how to behave in a shared bathroom... for the price, we were expecting a insuite bathroom. I am not used to sharing a bathroom, but I knew before paying and I did get what I paid for. I am happy with my stay. Only problem was difficulty with lock on upstairs toilet door, which had to be pushed very hard to stay shut! However, this was not too much of a problem really. The floor is sloping so much we wonder if there is a serious problem?. Shared bathroom - especially do not like sharing a toilet. No facecloths. Wasn't crazy about back entrance to get to doorway to upstairs, but once through door was maintained nicely. - bathroom shared with 1-2 other rooms; - no lift could cause problems for somebody;. Nothing. The outward appearance is not that attractive but it is over 100 yr old! Looks can be deceptive. nothing - it's all great. Unfortunately no rooms with an en suite bathroom but it can't be helped. A shared bathroom is not very convenient for a family with a young kid. No en-suite . It would be nice to have a sink in the room . Sharing a bathroom was somewhat problematic in the mornings when I needed showers. But nothing too bad. no en suite facilities. No en suites in any of the bedrooms. We couldn't open the windows and the stairs were very steep. Up the 3 flights of stairs was a bit tough for my wife, but they helped us and we did fine. One more toilet may have been good. Nothing worthy of mention. Shared bathroom. The bathroom is shared, but it was expected. Its a bit pricy for the facilities to compare to other cities. Its quite good for Oxford. No complaints.
