The room was comfortable. The hotel was central for shops, restaurants and theatres which was the reason for our visit. We stayed on a room only basis so I am unable to comment on the dining facilities. One of the best hotels we have stayed at in this country, at a very reasonable price. Great location and huge modern rooms mean we'll hopefully be returning soon.The cleanliness and clear attention to detail. The staff were also faultless. I would definitely stay there again.

Very nice room at a good price. Bedrooms- spacious. Location. The standard room was large, clean, comfortable and decorated in a beautiful art deco style with walnut fittings. Very good for a standard room. Plus, we were given the choice of eithr, a walk in shower room or, bath with shower. Comfortable room with a nice view of the art gallery and town hall. Close proximity to good restaurants, cinema and place of business. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Relaxing lounge atmosphere.clean,quiet,modern hotel. The hotel was lovely.proximity to centre. We were only looking for a mid price hotel, and at the price we had for 1 night we felt like we were staying in a luxury hotel. The room was creatively designed, the inner balcony overlooking the atriums, with art work and mosaics, made it feel like we were on holiday rather than 'just stopping overnight in a hotel'. Access to virgin fitness only £6.50 cheap for a hotel guest staying @ £99 a night B&B.... Liked where it was in centre of town. location. A very minor point, in that the packet complementary of biscuits left in the room had already been opened. Bar Area. No on site parking. Trouble parking at the weekends. We were fortunate to get a free space in front of the hotel, but there aren't many, and our friends had to queue for twenty minutes to park in the paying car park. Perhaps the hotel could negotiate a discount for overnight customers with the underground car park.Very minor detail but the kettle was in a strange drawer affair which made it dificult to go into the bathroom when the kettle was boiling. The hotel is very hard to find and took us much longer to get there.Also car parking was expensive.Only minor points. 1 Having to use the room card to get into the lift and for the room meant that whilst I needed it for the lift, my wife had to sit in the dark because she needed the card up there for the room. Although we coped and it wasn't such a big issue, it was a bit unhelpful - can appreciate the security reasons for the lifts tho. Also, the price of the wine was a bit expensive. Would be good for parking information to be provided. There is a loop system in Leeds and I parked in a car park nearby after driving around for a while that cost me £18 overnight whereas the one under the hotel would have been £5.A bit too warm. The room was very warm and we were unable to open a window. The air conditioning did not work which meant the room was a little warm.Silly things: Only 2 biscuits compared with a fully stocked mini bar andsomeone knocked on our door at 8.30 am and let themselves in!. The bed and pillows were not comfortable. Many room service trays and dinner dishes from previous guests not collected all day and left in the corridor. Expensive car parking and breakfast. Street noise loud at night Breakfast below par the premier lodge is better (at least the food is fresh there) have to ask for more coffee no one asks whether anything is needed at the table. Shower drain bad odour in room Very dusty tv cable. Cleaning could be better Bedroom layout weird. Bed central feature in room Takes up all the space. Room cleaned at 5pm seemed late compared to other hotels . Reception desks were understaffed at key points in the day meaning a long wait to check out/collect luggage etc. Not convinced shower was cleaned one day - empty shampoo bottles left etc. Supply of tea bags etc a bit mean. Hotel a bit lacking in atmosphere. The bed ! It was awful. Lumpy and dome shaped. Wierd. You felt like youwere about to fall out. The first hotel where they treated debit cardsdifferently from credit cards.could have better quality coffee in the rooms and a greater supply of milk. The breakfast was appauling, the service was not much better. Thelighting in the room was not practical, great for comfort and relaxingbut not when your trying to get ready for the evening. Simple thingslike a full length mirror and lighting over the mirrors would be great. The carpet had electricians tape over a join. The hotel told us that the parking in The Light would be £5 and it was actually £15. The room was intolerably hot despite having air conditioning. the heater was not working which made the room very cold. The reception was under-staffed at all times, espexcially at check-out time on Sunday morning. The booking was not in my family name, but in my given name, so there was confusion and frustration when checking in.When a visitor asked for me at the hotel, using both names, she was told I was not staying there.but not where the room was, it was overlooking the shopping area a bit noisy, the room was very dark and dingy not very much lighting the room was very basic and drinks were really expensive in the hotel. The bedroom was cold, and the windows whistled.
