Excellent B&B in a large house in a line of upscale suburban homes on the road North out of Douglas. Overlooking the sea and Tram lines; quiet area. Margaret is the best hostess, keen to make you as comfortable as possible and ensure you enjoy every aspect of your visit. Breakfast choices excellent and innovative (ie: bagels, eggs, smoked salmon), well cooked and presented. Did not try her dinner menu (failed to realise it was available and unfortunately made alternative arrangements) but c.
所有评语 » Margaret was very welcoming and friendly. We were upgraded to a large room with a massive bed, a large bathroom with luxury bath and shower. There was a walk in wardrobe and a TV which came out of a cupboard and could be turned to face the bed or the sofa. Everything was provided including free bottled water in the fridge, a vast array of coffee for the coffee maker, home baked cakes in the huge communal sitting room and even toothbrushes and toothpaste. Each cooked breakfast was freshly prepar. Englewood Lodge is really a good choice for a nice vacation. The rooms have beautiful sea views and the host Margaret is warm-hearted and helpful. She would always like to share her knowledge about the isle and helps us design our routes. And the food is soooooo fresh and tasty, and I really recommend that you stay for dinner for maybe one or two days at Margaret's place to enjoy her delicious homemade queenie, salmon, kipper, steak and many other choices. You can see the whole menu from the ha. We were made very welcome right from the moment we arrived. When we were shown our room I was amazed at how large it was and how well it was appointed. The breakfasts were excellent with a very good choice. We had one evening meal and again the food was excellent. Margaret the owner seems to have no end of energy and made our stay very enjoyable. She was always able to help us with any enquiries. Somehow 5 stars does not seem enough. Highly recommended. The friendly greeting by Margaret our host when we first arrived and the relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. We chose to have an evening meal with two of our friends we were visiting, and the meal was superb. Nothing was too much trouble. Margaret emailed directions from the ferry so we found the accommodation very easily. We will certainly recommend Englewood Lodge to all our friends and look forward to our next visit. Margaret is a friendly host who has a can-do attitude to make your stay at enjoyable as possible. She is an excellent cook - we had a home-cooked meal for 5 days as she had a good menu. The bnb is a little out of Douglas and you probably need a car to make your stay a bit easier. But I think there is good public transport nearby. Absolutely everything. Margaret is a wonderful hostess; the room including the shower were excellent; food was lovely; facilities were friendly & comfortable. I have stayed in 5 star hotels that were nowhere near as good as this. We were made to feel extremely welcome and were very well looked after. Margaret is very friendly and caring, you feel welcome and the atmosphere is homely and not restricting. Rooms are very well appointed and very, very, clean. The position is great as are the views. Just loved our stay wish we could take it with us for the rest of our trip. We have never experienced anything like this before. Margaret makes you feel so at home that it becomes impossible to leave! We only stayed one night but would happily stay forever! Nothing is too much trouble and we can't recommend Margaret and her lovely lodge enough!. Everything.All the rooms are very high standards. Margaret was a warm and friendly hostess. Breakfast was wonderful, fresh fruit salad and lots of choice. Room was large with a nice sized bathroom and excellent shower. Everything!!! The room, the cake, the pool table, the food, the service, the cleanliness and most of all the friendliness. A first class stay all round!!!!!. Excellant location affording easy travel throughout the Isle Of Man.Margaret was an excellant host and the meals throughout were supberb.Highly recommended. very impressed, Margaret works very hard to ensure your stay is a happy and memorable one. Very friendly family home atmosphere, great service, lovely rooms, good food. Comfort,freedom to come and go, personal attention, food, all outstanding. just a loveley place. Ecallent isn't a big enough word for the place. everything,a great stay with an ocean view and a helpful host. Absolutely pampered to death by the nicest landlady ever. Excellent accommodation. Very friendly and helpful. Meals were 1st class! Friendly!. Every thing. Only disadvantage to those visitors "on foot" is the location; a bit far out of Douglas and up the hill, however otherwise, worth every penny. The only thing that is not fully satisfied is the location. The nearest bus stop is like 10-15 minutes walk, and the public transportation before summer is not very convenient. However, if you rent a car and drive yourself on the isle, this is definitely a wonderful place to stay. The Hotel is not that close to Douglas and suits people with cars as parking is easy. We don't mind walking or using public transport so did not mind this minor inconvenience. This is no reflection on the Hotel. Nothing to dislike!. Another couple who seemed determined to find fault with excellence. There was nothing. Nothing. can't fault it in any respect. Some minor traffic noise, although not enough to disturb us. Noisy distracting coffee maker in Dining room (but worth the noise for the quality). There was nothing to criticise. Room was a little cold although this was rectified by a fan heater.The weather was exceptionally cold for the time of year. The weather :). we could only stay one night. Nothing. Leaving.
