All reviews mention the famous carpet on the stairs, but my room was clean, roomy and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the meals in the bar were fine, and the location is excellent, opposite the castle, next to a bus stop and convenience store, and an easy walk to the railway station. A very warm welcome by the staff. The lady serving breakfast deserves a medal. She can serve ten people at the same time, efficiently. on her own and clear plates regularly. I was worn out watching her!!! Location superb in the center of eautiful Castletown. Bust stop right outside. Food was excellent.
所有评语 » The large spacious bedrooms, with generous tea/coffee making facility. Plenty of hot water. A superb breakfast with plenty of choice. The evening meals were good. We had room No5 which is straight face to the castle. Staff really friendly and the room was excellent for the money. Breakfast was well worth the money. Bedroom well appointed and clean. Bar area is ok and always busy. Room was clean and with an excellent shower and tea/coffee. Food,staff,bedroom was fine. One morning the chef was not in and the cooked breakfast was made with a cold sauce: next day the chef was back and all was fine. The room could do with an update but the price was very reasonable so the price pretty much matched the room in terms of value. The double bed was two singles pushed together, but both 'rolled' to the middle. The duvet was only a double and barely stretched from one side to the other, so there was no overhang. The access from both the pub and the side door was very shabby and the carpet on the stairs badly in need of replacing.These things were mentioned to the managers on the morning of departure. There fish and chips. Sick all night. Heating could be better and double bed was actually 2 single ones put together. Rooms tired. But believe renovations are planned so would love to return and see what it looks like. Hotel does require refurbishment but it didnt detract from the overall welcome. Nothing. shappy front, shabby furniture. carpet in stairs dirty and worn. Unable to open window. Noisy children in bar area. Hallway/reception and stairs leading up to rooms are in desperate need of re decoration and and new floor covering. Staircase carpet to rooms appeared to be more like an oil slick and is we past its lifetime. Could not get breakfast before 8am so could not have breakfasts either day we had prebooked for. If we had known this we would not have booked here at all as this was a disaster for us as ee needed b&b not just a bedroom. Stairs were filthy.Entrance and mat at front door were dirty.It was difficult not to doubt the hygiene of kitchen when such obvious areas were so bad. alles.
