Breakfast was a real treat - sitting in the bright sunshine on the patio, with the waves crashing on the adjacent beach. And, what a lovely breakfast we had. The room had a terrific view out to sea, overlooking the beach. We were delighted to have stayed in for dinner in their Lemongrass restaurant. Lovely meal and wine, and all reasonably priced. Finally, when we came out in the morning, one of the staff had washed all the guests cars. We really appreciated that touch, especially as ours wa.
所有评语 » The guesthouse is beautifully situated directly at the coast - great views from our little terrace and also from the restaurant. The on-site restaurant Lemongrass was fantastic and anyone staying at the guest house should at least have dinner there once. Hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly. Owner Kees is a lovely elderly gentleman who was present at breakfast every morning to recommend activities to his guests. Car was cleaned by hotel staff every morning. Location is perfect, room six has an amazing view of both the mountains and the beach. We didnt sit out on the balcony as was winter but it would be very relaxing to sit out in the evening in the sun. Owner very friendly and helpful. Provided very useful suggestions of places to visit in the area along with maps and details usually not covered. Breakfast very good, not as varied as some but very good quality. Location, location, location! Nice big room and bathroom with lovely patio looking across the lagoon and beach/sea. Restaurant food was very tasty for breakfast and dinner and not overpriced. Quiet area with comfortable bed. Near to shops etc. Staff are willing to please and solve any problems which arise. The style of the hotel - it was like a very comfortable large old house, tastefully and peacefully decorated - wonderful use of fabrics, oranaments and furniture. Very nice restaurant - not too exclusive, but well run and good service. Management are hands on so you know you are always in very good hands. This was a nice place in a brilliant location. Just a few paces and you are on the beach. Also has the advantage of a top quality restaurant right next door. No hesitation in returning. The staff were very helpful and special thanks to Margaret & Kaas........ Robberg Nature reserve! Don't miss it, is it only 10 minutes by car, and take sufficient time for the hike. The breakfast area is really lovely in Milkwood manor, and the restaurant next door (the deck) has a perfect view on the ocean and really good seafood. Our hosts were very welcoming and went out of their way to help us settle in comfortably with recommendations of where to eat etc. Breakfast was fab. Situation of the property is fantastic - right on the beach with views to die for. Great location right on beach with balcony overlooking water in our room. Very nice restaurant with full bar with very friendly staff. Owner was very helpful with offering suggestions of nearby attractions. Full marks for a great house, and our only regret was that we had to move on. The TV was a bit on the small side but we didn't use it anyway. A little fridge in the room would have been great. Breakfast was OK but in hindsight we had much better breakfasts at the guest houses we stayed at later during our trip. Also the fact that breakfast was only served from 8 until 9 am, even on weekends, was a setback. Continual plumbing problems in the shower although staff quick to deal and solve issues as they happened. Small TV in the room and lack of channels. Not a problem for a short stay but we were there for 6 nights. I think this guest house is over-priced compared to all the other places we stayed on our trip (of equal standard). I found it difficult that you can't seem to walk around safely at night (but that's a South African problem, not the hotel's). The road at night driving from Knysna through to Plettenberg after dark is treacherous and to be avoided. So hard to find if you are unsure of the directions. Fine by day - and there are ample signs - you just can't see them at night (my fault). Our itinery meant we only had 3 days there !!!!!. Nothing. Although not part of the hotel, the service in the restaurant was lacking, not rude, just cold. To be fair, we did witness of other waiters being very pleasent to other patrons, it was just ours who was a miserable sod. The breakfast buffet was a little limited compared to other places we stayed, although the quality was very good. We would also have liked an outdoor seating area or sun loungers for guests, although we did have a lovely private patio with superb views across the beach. Food was excellent but the evening waiters were not particularly friendly. The lack of fridge/mini bar in bedroom. No pool No Bath in room only a shower Limited dstv channels. Internet connection in the rooms is poor. Can get cold in the rooms during winter. Restaurant (not run by hotel) could use better wine list given location. Not the fault of Milkwood Manor but had no electricity on waking :(. Unfortunately the plumbing needs attention as it took forever to get hot water The breakfast was a let down with hot food not being topped up so arriving late left little choice. Building work going on at the front made the dragging suitcases to the entrance difficult. The rooftop terrace was closed because of repair work, so could not take advantage of the views. No flowers or chocolates in the room Hot water takes too long Bathroom could be upgraded. Clumping walking noise from the wooden entrance hall floor coming through into room number 2 spoilt any afternoon naps. Needs a runner or other sound dampening arrangement on that floor. Nothing. Had to pay separately for food and drinks, could not add them to the room bill. Poor service E.G. no breakfast available on our second day. The place needs a major shake up with a good manager in place.
