  We stayed here for 2 nights on the advice of our guidebook which said that this riad is absolutely perfect and I would have to agree! It’s a beautifully decorated riad, with friendly and helpful staff who speak English. They have a fireplace which was nice in February in the mountains and the room had a good heater. Possibly the nicest roof of any riad - The staff was incredibly helpful....we were coming to Chefchaouen by private car and were unable to find our way to the entrance ....one of the guys came down to the town....bopped in our car and led us to the parking area and helped us take our bags to the Dar. The breakfast is hearty and fresh...much more than a typical carb overload...and the ambiance is lovely; fireplace going in the chilly morning...great terrasse to relax and take the sun in the afternoon .   Incredibly friendly staff! They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable/happy. The bed & pillows were super comfortable & the shower had piping hot water. Breakfast was incredible. Probably the best place we stayed in Morocco & wish they were all like this.   Omar, his Wife and Daughter were very hospitable. We arrived late in the evening, Omar helped us find a parking space. His Wife had cooked an amazing meal of Lamb Tagine with wonderful salads to start with. A truly memorable experie - The location, inside the Medina, is very good. The owner manager was an extremely nice man, very welcoming and accommodating. We trekked in the nearby RIF mountains and he walked us through the Medina to the foothills of the mountains to show us where to start our hike from. The terrace has great views over Chefchaouene.

  Muhammed Ali is by far the friendliest and most helpful person we've met running a guesthouse. He gave us a free pick up and drop off, organized our bus tickets, surprised us with homemade yogurt on our first night, etc.etc.etc. He truly cares about great service and seems to be a genuinely good guy. Casa del Rio is beautiful on the inside, trust me, but his pictures don't - Casa del Rio and Chefchaouen was a peaceful respite in the midst of a rather harried trip. The Moroccan government should hire the owner to represent the country internationally - he was one of the most thoughtful, considerate people I have ever met traveling, and was by far the highlight of our Moroccan experience.
