Sam in the Concierge team can speak English and was most helpful, even before our arrival in Hangzhou, by answering all our email queries about tours from Hangzhou to Huangshan (Yellow mountain). The check-in was quick and efficient and the staff were very pleasant. The staff at the reception counter even brought us to our room. This extended into every detail through the whole hotel, from lobby to hallways and rooms to a level you don't see very often in China, specially not in this price class. Bed was of superb quality. Break fast was nice with a good choice between Chinese and Western food. Also the food from room service was affordable and very tasty. Best thing was the spa, never had such a good massage anywhere in China.

  Breakfast room at top floor - Staff were very friendly and helpful, but shy about talking with a westerner - I was the only one staying there! Location is great. Decor is excellent. Single room was really big with a double bed. Non-smoking bedroom really was non-smoking(no lingering smell) - a rarity in China.
