  Although I thought we were staying at the main Red Wall Garden Hotel, we ended up, fortunately, at the San Yan Jing Hutong, which I assume is a part of the Red Wall Garden operation. This place was picture perfect, a wonderful Chinese setting with a clientele that one couldn't be more pleased with. I don't know if all the hutong hotels are like this one, - It was very close, within walking distance, of two of the most famous hutongs. Very comfortable beds with a modern bathroom. The staff waited up for us until 1 am to let us in when returned to our room. The breakfast was great with many selections.

Kapok was on the door step of the forbidden city and tien'amen and very convenient for the purpose; to visit these.   We stayed for 5 nights from March 28 to April 2. They granted us all our requests: big carpeted room with king-sized bed and nice view. Thanks Ms Jenny of reservations whom I had been coordinating with via email! The hotel is very near the Chongwenmen subway station (lines 2 & 5).   They upgraded me to executive suite - it was a pleasant surprise. Also, I was super happy with their flexibility. I had to run errands and couldn't get back to the hotel to check out before 2 PM and they extended my stay without charging me extra. Really thoughtful and the staff was truly amazing.
