  It is a lovely old hotel with wonderful antiques everywhere. The location is perfect for seeing the museums and walking downtown. The menu was limited but the dinners we had on the two evenings we ate there were excellent. Delicious apples on the concierge desk, too!   The staff at the hotel were very cordial and helpful to my special requirements. The layout of the hotel was convenient and easy to maneuver around.   The staff was very accommodating. In particular there was some confusion regarding a breakfast coupon that went with the cost of the room. They gave us the coupon without any discussion. The shuttle was wonderful as were the drivers. The pool was warm and clean.   The staff was excellent. Very courteous and welcoming. We had originally booked for 1 night and decided to stay in the area for an extra night. They were able to cheerfully accommodate us for the extra night with no problem. The hotel itself is on beautiful grounds with an old-school charm, only a couple of minutes drive to a beautiful downt... vad folk säger » own area with lots of shopping, parks and restaurants. The rooms are older, but are SUPER clean. The beds are comfortable and made with the nicest - Loved the sauna & will next time get a massage as well. I love the fact that there is a swimming pool, jacuzzi, massage therapist, & sauna. Perfect for those stiff muscles from driving. The rooms are very clean, well decorated, & quiet. Both the female & male receptionists were considerate & prompt.

  The staff of The Downtowner were wonderful. Warm, friendly and very helpful with directions and suggestions of places to see, eat, etc. The location of the The Downtowner could not be beat! Right in the middle of downtown Saratoga Springs. It was great for strolling around the town, visiting the shops and checking out the different resturants ... vad folk säger » and bistros. We were there for a concert at SPAC. Was very easy in and out for that venue as well. - Location is the best! Nice sitting area outside the room or around the pool. Wifi works great and we had a king bed which was great and comfortable. Quiet and friendly place to stay. The breakfast was minimal but uncommond grounds across the street has the best coffee & bagels or up the street on the left was a full all day breakfast for less than $10.
