  The hotel is lovely, nice rooms, comfy bed. They gave us a complimentary room upgrade for our honeymoon. They are renovating at the moment so I imagine it will be more modern look in the future.   the staff were very friendly and ALWAYS said aloha every time they passed. The pool and gym were wonderful and we used them every day. I liked having the Kings and Queens market close by as we had a choice of eating establishments. the beach was protected and great for water sports. Down the beach was the Lava Lava Bar - we ate their quite a few... vad folk säger » times and had drinks at sunset. Thanks to John and NIck there for a wonderful part of our stay. - The beach was very nice. Our room would have been perfect if we'd had a full ocean view instead of a partial because of a tree. The gym is nice and clean. The concierge was helpful but be warned, it is run by Expedia so no Kama'aina rates. The nearby markets were convenient and a good option if you don't want to eat at the hotel. Several good restaurants as well as a food court are available.

  Beautiful grounds and a setting with an ambience of the old Hawaii. The restaurant is excellent. We have been to Maui many times but had not been to Hana. We booked the Travaasa Hana for one night because it was the one nice hotel available. After arrival, we decided to extend another night and that made the experience really special. The sandalwood soap, the quality of shampoo and rinse, the soap dish and toothbrush holder. The staff were exemplary!Always going out of their way to insure we had the best care possible!

  We were celebrating my father's 70 birthday and the whole family was at the Marriott (10 of us). We had 4 rooms between us at the Marriott. The rooms were so big spacious and partial ocean view was amazing. We had missed our flight leaving Hawaii and needed to check back in (we needed 4 rooms) and the staff (Tania) was amazing extremely helpful ... vad folk säger » and understanding. She assisted us and managed to give us an upgrade at the rate that we had initially paid for. We were so appreciative for that. T - We only had one problem-we did ask them to havea a look at our fridge as it froze all our contents and it took them a week and a half of our stay to do anything about it. maybe they didn't understand us ,we had to tell them like 4 times until they replaced it. Everything in fridge had to be thrown out.

  Loved the adult infinity pool and that our room was a few feet away. We had an awesome oceanfront room that was very close to the pool.   I thought Rhisa, who checked me in was a wonderful concierge who helped me with all my inquiries and had bell hop take all my treasures up to my room! Davey, the IT person helped me get my Wi-Fi set very quickly! The room I had was in the far side of the main building where it was quite and no problems with getting around. Merry Christmas! - I was concerned about the property after reading reviews & was pleasantly pleased with everything about the hotel. Noise was not an issue as so many reviewers said. But it is a city so there will be some. We closed our windows at night & slept well. Great location. Buses out front. IHop across the street. Staff went out of their way to help whenever approached. I would stay here again.

  Loved the atmosphere on the grounds with the open-air lobby and tropical landscaping. The on-site restaurant had excellent food and a view of the pool and ocean. It was a really nice touc - We liked how close we were to the beach. I left my sliding glass door open all night so I could hear the ocean. Very soothing. There are a lot of places to stay on Maui, I feel that I stayed in the best location!! Easy to get in and out. Hwy 30 just down the street. The staff made it extremely easy to come and go. They weren't pushy, but available when you needed them.

  My partner and I stay at The New Otani Kaimana for 2 nights early April 2013. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. When we checked in the lady was really friendly and we were upgraded to an ocean view room free of charge which was great. It was last two nights of our 17 night stay around the various islands so decided to pay a bit more than we had budgete... vad folk säger » d for, but it was well worth it. It has it's own beach which is quieter and nicer than the main section of Waikiki beach. The locals hang out around h - This boutique hotel is "just right". Not too big, not too small, not too fancy, not too plain: relaxed, casual elegance. The food is excellent. Most of the staff have been there for years. The hotel is at the far end of Waikiki Beach, next to the Nanitorium, across from Kapiolani Park and close to Diamond Head--in short, away from the madness of Waikiki but within walking distance.

  We had a 2nd floor apartment on a 2 storey block - try to ask for the 2 storey buildings when you book. It was fantastic. The location is great, just in front of the beach.We sat on our balcony every night and watched the sun go into the sea and then the sky turn beautiful colours. It was good to be opposite the shops. The morning snorkling off the rocks in front of Hale Pau Hana afforded a great variety of fishes and many green sea turtles. Our unit was superb and the other guests and staff were friendly.

  The Modern is a fantastic place to stay. This was our second trip there and we loved every minute. Its easy walking distance to the Mall and in - Super friendly staff-from desk clerks to runners to room service; the room was modern and tasteful, great for work, and very comfortable and peaceful; the pools are lovely; room service was great; above all, it is a beautiful boutique hotel which is much nicer than any surrounding accommodations and for a better price. I couldn't recommend it any more highly!
