  Can't fault the food, good honest home cooked food, extraemly good sized portions and very well cooked, not the usual "fine dining " served up in country inns, which is why we booked up at the pheasent, the mixed grill is a must!! not silly pots with drizzel on the plates but a good well presented dish.. well done!! also beer was very good and wel... vad folk säger » l kept. breakfast was again like the evening meal, superb, set me up for the whole day, did not eat again till near 8pm so thanks again and if we were - Great welcome from assistant manager Ryan. E He has excellent customer service skills. The room was pleasant the beds good quality and the area quiet and rustic. Was babysiting for the family who were at a wedding at a larger hotel close to Oakham and the room rate was half that hotel and comfort wise we experienced twice as much.   Very helpful, smiling, friendly staff. The chefs are fantastic. A very high standard of comfort and we were able to come and go as we pleased and could just sit and read in our comfortable, quiet room if we wished a sofa. The home cooked shortbread was daily replaced - sad for the waistline but absolutely devine for a few days 'chill'.   Really liked it , what stood out from most hotels was all the staff were young? But the most impressive thing was that these young staff were absolutely superb they had good personality s and were so efficient? 10 out of 10 for the whole team. - We had a fantastic weekend.   The White Swan is a lovely little establishment in a quiet village. The surrounding area is lovely, the staff were very pleasant, helpful and professional, even a table booked for dinner. The food in the resturant was excellent, and breakfast was also excellent. The rooms were tidy and clean, the bed comfortable.
