  We loved our stay! The hotel was beautiful and spotless. The complimentary breakfast was also very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our family room (slept 3) was beautiful. It had a nice, large bathroom and everything was very clean. We felt it was reasonable priced and only a short walk from the train station and shops. They also has great suggestions for child-friendly places to eat and a wonderful location where we could walk wherever we wanted to go. Our room was also very comfortable with more than enough space for us and all of our kids accessories.

  The hotel was in an ideal location in Windermere. We have just purchased a boat at the marina, and this was ideal for us. The hotel was excellent, food excellent, facilities excellent, and staff extremely helpful. We were greeted on the front desk by a gentleman called Giles, extremely helpful, brilliant first class service.   The hotel is situated within its own established grounds in a quiet location 15 minutes walk from the small village of Windermere and one and a half miles from Bowness-on-Windermere. The hote - Loved everything about our stay here. Really friendly and helpful staff who are all a credit to the hotel. Room had great view across to the lake. Large comfy bed, loads of storage space, hot and powerful shower, huge bath towels and more. Would definitely recommend evening meal at hotel. Food cooked to order so served fresh and hot.   Great location within walking distance of both Windemere and Bowness. Helen, Phillippa and Trevor all pleasant and helpful. They even took us through the kitchen at breakfast time to see the Deer in the woods at the rear of the property. Able to use spa/gym facilities at nearby hotel. All in all excellent place to stay. - the hostress, Phillipa (hope I didn't wrongly spell her name) was very kind. She welcomed us with delicious tea and cookies, and provided us some milk and cereal when she heard we had to catch up an early train and would miss the breakfast - hmm, the breakfast was quite good here. The room was clean and cozy, enough space and we even saw a deer outside the window. Overall it was really nice stay, I could understand why this guesthouse could get such a high rating.

  Worth every penny - a fantastic small hotel It snowed heavily during our stay and the staff even cleared the snow from our car - We stayed in the Bowness suite and it was beautiful, we could not fault a thing at this place, will return soon

  The hotel communal areas and our room were spotlessly clean and well decorated. Lovely room overlooking the rear gardens. Breakfast was exceptional due to the choice and flexibility of options available. Owners and staff were friendly, but left you to your own devices, which was good. Martin and Sue are wonderful, warm hosts. Breakfast was delicious each morning! Our rooms were charming and comfortable.
