I liked everything of the hotel. The staff, the food, the stay, it was absolutely wonderful. I have already planned my next visit to the Isle of Wight and will definately stay at the Somerton Lodge Hotel again. the staff the breakfast the room were great best ive had in 3 years stay on the island.the staff were ace spot on specially Agnes.Shes a diamond. It was a beautiful place to stay, we were made to feel so welcome, andall the staff were frielndly, it was spotlessly clean and welldecorated.

Every thing, they could not do enough for us and nothing was too muchtrouble. We will use them again when we return next year. Staff very friendly. Always smiling and happy to help. Slightly uncomfortable bed but other than that was great. Room rather small and overlooking car park.A bit far to walk from the beach and train station, but thats no problem at all if you have you're own transport. perhaps a later breakfast. the only small complaint was the noisy radiator pipes early in the morning. Little niggle that the en suite bathroom was very small.Our room's temperature appeared to be controlled (in part) from a thermostat on the landing outside our room. When this was turned down, our room got cold! Parking spaces were insufficent for the hotel's full capacity. Car parking is a problem. Noisy plumbing. The bed was not very comfortable: squeaky springs and the shower room could do with being updated.Untidy grounds. Ladder left against wall giving possible access to ourroom window. Noisy bed......really!. parking a bit limited. The shower was very poor. The shower colud have been better. Unfortunately the car park facilities at the hotel are poor, not enough spaces in relation to the number of guests with vehicles No parking nearby. Rooms need updating. We found our room a bit too warm. bit to far out of town. The brakfast room was lovely but there wasn't enough room for people to sit comfortably, one couple had to sit in the aisle as chair space was limited. approach to and car park needed lighting.The shower door did not close which meant that water ran out of the cubicle. The toilet had carpet on the floor which is just not a healthy idea in my oponion. We also had to request that the central heating be turned on in our room. Parking. bad TV reception, shower pressure was very poor, thin pillows, decor very tired and dated. The curtains were transparent and let light in. Evening meal very basic.
