  Booked a superior room after seeing the pics on the website, absolutely lovely; enjoyed the evening meal and the breakfast; all the staff were very friendly; great location; would definitely come back in the summer. - Wonnderful location, hotel staff were all very good and the special rate made it very attractive.

  Friendly, very clean, nice little individual touches, I had the impression that nothing was to much trouble, liked to use local quality produce, great scrambled egg! the owners obviously enjoy what they do. - The gardens were amazing and the owners couldn't do enough for me. Very relaxing and most enjoyable

  The peace - I thought the hotel was very good value. The cooked breakfast was excellent. Unlike some of the previous reviewers I found the staff very helpful.

  A well appointed and run hotel, friendly and efficient. Our room was not the traditional hotel type room being individually furnished and decorated. The gardens were well laid out and maintained with some interesting plants and shrubs.   This place was simply home from home. You are made to feel very welcome with a welcome cup of tea and cake. The lovely open fire in the guest lounge is something you don't want to leave. Plenty of choice for breakfast with as much to eat as you wish. Quiet, comfortable, perfect breakfast, Caroline was helpful with recommending places to visit and always very approachable, friendly and kind.   The hotel is in a gorgeous old building in a quiet neighberhood a bit away from the city. It has the hallmarks of past elegance but is showing its age. However, for cyclist weary from a long day on the road, we loved its lack of pretension. We had a huge room with a gorgeous view over the river. Depending on weather, seating was either outside on a patio or inside full glass, but both were overlooking the garden and the river. It was - The location within yards of the South West Coastal Path. Main bus route at the end of the road. Just a short 1/2 mile walk along the path opposite the hotel to the centre of Bideford. Breakfast was very good, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Cycle hire on the Tarka Trail in approx 1 mile away. The view from the bedroom and dining room over the fiver was superb.

  We had a super room overlooking the river, the room was very comftable with arm chairs, tea/coffe making facilities, super large bed.The web site did not do this hotel justification we thought it was very good value for money and the evening meal we had was superb, would recommend this hotel to anyone. - as above plus great staff, very helpful.
