  Stayed 4 nights at this well-managed hotel with very friendly and efficient staff. Our room (junior suite) had a great view on the river and the Guggenheim museum. The coloured windows are a somewhat strange gimmick, but you get used to it after a while. We enjoyed being able to rent bicycles at the hotel and discover Bilbao at our own speed. Staff were really exceptionally friendly and pleasant. We used their package that included the bikes and Guggenheim tickets. Convenient. Ideally situated for the Guggenheim and old city.

  This is a fantastic hotel to stay in. The hotel is beautifully designed and easy to spot from a distance. The facilities are excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Location good--two stops on a train fromtermibus where the airport bus takes you--about 5 trains each hour, andreturning to the center is 7 stops to short walk over a bridge to oldtown.   Pensión La Salve is not too hard to find if you do your homework. Look for it using Google Earth. If you go through Puente de La Salve it should be easy to get there. There is an easier way to go there without using the bridge, but you might have to find it there. It is about a ten minute walk from the city.
