The metro is 5/10 minutes walk away and there is loads of places to eat. The staff are lovely, carried my bags for me and couldnt help you enough. The price is great for what you get! this was my 3rd stay in this hostel and I spoke to others staying in other hostels paying more and they wernt anywhere near as good!

  The staff was very kind and helpful, and the hostel has an excellent location in the center, just next to Plaza Mayor, 5 minutes from Palacio Real and in front of the hostel there is the market San Miguel which has one of the best offer of foods. - The rooms are amazing, the best hostel I've ever been to!   Wonderful view. Great location. Breakfast at the high class restaurant below the location is limited but usual for Spain. Nice staff and owner. Very different to commercial establishments in as much as it is a converted apartment and was very interesting for us, a mature couple. We were placed in a huge room at no extra cost. Very clean. Staff are very responsive and punctual and the place has the charm of a 18th century building.

  We spent just one night at the Hostal Macarena, when passing Madrid on our way back from holiday. It's a lovely place in the heart of Madrid (Plaza Mayor is just behind the corner!), surrounded by many bars, restaurants and little stores. The room is quite small, but well equipped and clean. Staff doesn't speak very good English, but is very nice.... vad folk säger » I'd recommend this place especially for young people - as it's situated in the very city centre, everybody's partying and so it's quite noisy till la - Location, location, location! Two steps from the plaza Mayor and many other attractions, located on a little street with animation. Staff is courteous and helpful. They kept our luggage all day so we could walk around freely untill we left to take the train. Room was clean, confortable and big enough. Very good quality for the price. I recommend this hotel wihtout any hesitation.

Servicen var utmärkt och fick all hjälp som behövdes - The room was very nice and beautiful, nicely decorated, probably recently renovated. Hostal Luz is situated in the center of Madrid, 5 minute walk to the shopping avenue and Plaza Mayor. I think it is best, especially for couples. - Honestly, as far as hostals go, this is the creme de la creme. What afantastic stay. Although we had problems with the wireless internet,the room itself was fantastic. The staff was very considerate andhelpful as well.

  Location was great - just around the corner from Opera Metro station. Very, very clean and beds comfortable. We had a room at the back to no traffic noise at all. Staff friendly but only Spanish spoken. Felt very safe and secure so great for single travellers. Had breakfast at the vienna which was great (they have great sandwich selectio... vad folk säger » n too) and on our travels had a great lunch at La Taperia which is opposite the Botanic Gardens. - Friendly reception just no english so a translation app will come in handy. Right in the middle off the city centre. A lot of sightseeing can be done on foot.

  Absolutely loved the Casa de Madrid- easily one of the loveliest places we have ever stayed. All the staff were exceptionally friendly, nothing was too much trouble, really genuinely lovely people taking great care to make our holiday as good and memorable as it could be. There is a great pride in the owner and the people who work there of the traditional and beautiful bui - It's not a hotel in conventional way. I like the ambience and all the elegant deco with a home style. Quite and lots of privacy in good location like this is really extrodinary. Very friendly staff provided good help on the train schedule and wifi in short/late time. We met the hostress when leaving at the door and she was a nice lady! Unique experience and strongly recommend to those people interested in culture.
