  Everyone was extremely friendly just as expected from true Japanese place. A person from the ryokan met us halfway from the station, showed the way and helped with the luggage, though we have not even told ryokan about the time we plan to arrive! I believe those guys patrol the area each time a train arrives just in case. One of our group was a ve... vad folk säger » geterian, we've told about it beforehand and although Japanese cuisine cannot be adapted to vegeterians, their chef did all he could with the dinner.A - I have been to japan 47 times and I really loved staying at this hotel. We had 4 nights at half board (meaning breakfast and dinner is included in the price) The staff were really friendly and not afraid to engage with us even though we had little Japanese and their English was mostly job specific. Our room was Japanese tatami mats and really big. The beds were put out at night while we had dinner. The food at breakfast and dinner was totally awesome and very Japanese with sashimi and sukiyaki

  As soon as I stepped into the Hotel I was amazed by the decor and traditional interior design. A staff member said I couldn't check in before 3pm (it was 12.30pm) but he said I could leave my bag there. So I left the building and went for my excursion to the Shirakawa-Go Unesco Village and came back around 7pm and he kindly checked me in. Awesome ... vad folk säger » stay. The private onsen was incredible and clean. WOW I will be back - I really like the onsen in Takayama Ouan. They have 3 private onsen to choose. So if you don't want to go to public onsen they've other option. The breakfast is great and a lot of choices. My family really enjoyed the breakfast. Location is good also close to the train station. You can just walked for 5 minutes to the hotel from the station.

  Very caring, friendly and helpful staff. Onsen was great and ryokan is peaceful and relaxing. Great stay! Breakfast was fantastic and traditional. - The family owners were helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them A lovely introduction to staying in a Japanese inn.

  Authentic Japanese ryokan/spa with tatami room with private toilet and sink, public bath and spa on the premises. Half-board plan with breakfast and dinner in the dining room: excellent, beautifully presented dishes. The staff was outstanding, particularly Koishi, fluent in English and quick to respond to special requests. We stayed at another hot... vad folk säger » el the night before, and Koishi agreed to pick us up upon checkout from there, bring us and our luggage to Yamaku, and keep our luggage until their co - Yamakyu was wonderful. A very welcoming and relaxing ryokan with an excellent evening meal and great Japanese breakfast, and no diffi\culty adapting these for a vegetarian diet. On leaving, our host offered to drive us to the station (depite it being only a few minutes walk), and he very kindly arranged to send forward an item that we had left in the room - at no charge. We could not have asked for better. Thanks to all for a lovely stay.

  The ensuite room is good size and comfortable. Simple decoration. Half way between the train station and the old town. about 8 mins walk from the train station. Good for money. - Their staff always help me when i have a question or got problem. They are so friendly.   Our room was upgraded to a spacious semi-suite, with a full sofa set and two semi-double beds. That's a big plus. The room was not brand new, but it was nice and super clean. The hotel staff even took us to the room after check-in and explained to us the onsen pools available at the hotel. Very soothing. Complimentary Japanese t - The room was really nice, a little old fashioned, but was more than adequate. We had a view of the mountains and loads of greenery. I would have to say that the best part of the hotel, would be their Onsen. The onsen is located inside the hotel, it had an indoor and outdoor onsen, the Onsen was extremely clean and well stocked.   We really enjoyed our stay, since it was our first time in a Ryokan, we were very happy that one of the staff members could speak english and explain the basic rules that we have to follow when staying in a traditional japanese Ryokan. Also the image with the instructions of how to wear the Yukata were very nice for us. And also the use of the ons... vad folk säger » en was explained very well (also in the Onsen). I can recommand this Ryokan to visitors that haven't been at a Ryokan, because it was a very enjoyable - The housekeeper lady was extremely warm, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the city and the attractions. She made you feel very at home. My family and I stayed in Japan for 7 years as the company country president and I aware of what is good standard in Japan.
