the place is very nice, up on the mountain, fresh air and wonderful surrounding. Family that works there are such a nice people. They always run around and makes you feel like at home. Mother prepares dinner, you sit all together with other tourists, share, enjoy delicious food, wine and have a nice long talking evening with son Marco. Its a simple, cozy place that i never saw before and always would like to come back!

Staff was just amazing, the views and surroundings are great and is strategically well placed inland but close to few beaches. Better if you go by car and with a GPS, at night can be tricky to get there for first timers.

The food was amazing! And the surrounding views of the mountains and countryside breathtaking. The location was remote but even if you don't travel here by car the staff are always at hand to help you with arrangements for local excursions.

Our host Antonello could not have been kinder or more thoughtful. He gave us a conducted tour of the city by car and regularly produced intineraries for our trips out. The breakfast was excellent. The bedroom was comfortable and drinks were availablle from a fridge in the room at very reasonable prices.
The house contained fascinating memorabilia and we had use of the courtyard when we wanted it.

We traveled to Cala Gonone as a young couple and found Residence Biriola very easy to find. Upon arriving we were greeted by Bruno, the elder statesman of the residence, who was quite simply charming. He took us around, showed us the garden at the back and told us we could help ourselves to the fresh herbs and chillis. Corte Cristina is unique. The building is lovingly restored (beginning of 19th century) royal court. Very friendly welcome by the hotel staff. They helped in everything you could imagine: carrying lugage, giving tips for visituing Cagliari, parking your car, explaning the history of the hotel, etc.
Junior large suite is very large, enough room for 4 people to spleep and move around. Situated in an ordianary, busy street, the inner place of the hotel doesn't remind you about this.
Dinner is also possible.
Would go back to it, when visiting Cagliari again.

We booked Villa Del Borgo the day before and got an excellent deal on a classic double - that was then upgraded on our arrival to a junior suite.
As long as you have a car, it is ideally placed for exploring the south of Sardinia, close to Pula, Cagliari and great beaches around Chia.

The general quality of the accommodation was excellent, the gardens beautifully maintained and the location between town and beach perfect. Breakfast was generally good but even though most of the guests clearly came through a UK tour company, local cheese instead of processed packets would have been appreciated.
