The owners were very friendly and tried their best to understand our limited French but we managed with the help of Google and Nellie our hostess jumping down from the table to find out the correct word. Quite a laugh! Lovely pool -

We loved this hotel. I think a lot of the previous reviews pretty much
summed it up ... the rooms are in dire need of refurbishment,
facilities are basic and beds rather uncomfortable. But maybe that is
the price of a bit of a character. Fresnay-sur-Sarthe is a pretty
little town with quite a bit of character, but somewhat sleepy. We were

Lovely rustic feel to the hotel and rooms. The hotel owner speaks good English and is extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant offers good value dinner and lunch options. We used the hotel as an overnight stop on our journey further south and it made an excellent start to the holiday and will certainly use the hotel again next year!
