  Beautiful location.A clean room with nice little balcony. Breakfast was french standard: plain but fresh and tasty. Staff is friendly but only speaks french. - A very French welcome at the top of a mountain just outside Briancon. A definite get away from it all hotel.

  Chez Bear is faultless! The key word here is relaxation! Mike is the perfect host and does everything possible to make you feel at home, in his calm, friendly manner. Helen, his charming partner, prepares the most delicious and beautifully presented food in extremely cosy and comfortable surroundings that quietly exude understated class. The super cool resident cat Dexter is lucky to be able live he all year round! - This place is truly beautiful set in the mountains. Mike and Helen are great hosts, very friendly and helpful nothing was a problem. We were welcomed with with a warm smile and made to feel right at home. Mike made us a hot tea delivered with biscuits real treat after a long day's drive. Helen's dinner was fantastic, we would definitely have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone.

  The staff were very welcoming. They were extremely helpful, even booking a table at one of the restaurants in the Old Town for us. The location is brilliant - head up the hill for a short walk to the Old Town and down the hill the same distance to the town centre. The breakfast was enjoyable - a typica - We were very much impressed by friendly atmosphere of the hotel , of its owners of young family. They were always ready to meet our needs, though my French is rather poor and their English was not that good, but we could understand each other inspite of it. Very attentive people. I would recommend to anyone this hotel, who wants to visit Briancon. Good Breakfast as well . very good coffee made by machine. Cleaning was done every day, and towels were changed every day.   We used Briancon as a base from which to explore the area by car. This hotel was ideal because it is easy to find from the main roads into Briancon and parking is free and plentiful. We had a room with a kitchen and the nearby supermarket and other shops were very convenient. A modern and very well maintained hotel. - It's attached to the Ibis hotel (same entrance) but about €13 cheaper for basically the same. Our room had a wonderful view of the snowcapped mountains and a small enclosed balcony to view them from. It shares a large carpark with the Ibis and the shopping centre which makes for easy parking and access to supermarket, great patisserie and lovely wine shop. Easy to find, just head for the Ibis.

  Typical of the time it was built (late 80's) it's a bit faded now. The room was clean and the bar-restaurant is good value. Staff very helpfull and friendly. The husband does not speak much English, but after gestures and a few choice words he managed to point us in the right direction. Grocery store and restaurants right around the corner.
