  If you visit Newfoundland then plan to bring an extra wallet with you. Accommodations (and meals, etc.) are generally expensive compared with the Canadian mainland and you'd be hard put to find anything on a budget scale except for a hostel or similar accommodation, with that probably being dormitory -style. My room cost of Can. $115.83 per night ... vad folk säger » was pretty high for bed and breakfast accommodation but would be quite normal for St. John's, with quite a number of other B&Bs or hotels being mo - The room was quite nice, spacious comfortable bathroom, quiet; close to downtown, easy walking distance for everything in the downtown area, nice to have wifi and long-distance calling included in price of room. I can see this being great for a group of epople travelling together, sharing the sitting/dining rooms, as well as kitchen.

  lovely room and ensuite...lovely well kept facility...loved the access to snacks and tea or ice at night...great family....great parking arrangements with city tag for car - David and Kim were excellent hosts. Kim met us each morning at breakfast and was very hospitable. The house was very beautiful and very close to the harbour.

  Leaside and Compton were both fantastic. Our adult girls stayed in Leaside and we stayed in the Avalon Suite in Compton. Our suite was perfect! Clean, super comfortable, nice color and design, large windows with light, wifi, TV, a large bath, great shower and wooden and marble floors. Went to the kitchen after hours for a cup of tea. The staff was... vad folk säger » so friendly and interesting. We joined our daughters at Leaside each morning for breakfast which was excellent. Molly was the best! We learned of the - Our second stay, and we will return again. The staff - always ready with a tray with tea or coffee and homemade muffins. The breakfasts were wonderful, and Molly serving them in the big dining room was a treat. Interesting guests from all over the globe, made for great conversations. Comfortable large rooms, clean updated bathrooms. A beautiful old historic property - and one I visited many years ago when a Parker classmate of mine lived there.   Everything, I always stay at hillview with sporting events, it's the best bang for your buck and I can keep the team together. It's very close to everything but still far enough away that the noise of St. John's don't keep you awake at night. I recommend hillview to whomever I know :) - We liked that it was in the perfect location. Close to sh... vad folk säger » opping centers. And we like the fact its great for kids. When it was time for their bed time we could put them in their room and go out in the living room and watch some t.v.

  When we checked in we were told what our room would provide ie water in fridge etc. I noticed that the soap was opened in bathroom and that likely the bathroom had been used after it was cleaned plus water was missing from fridge. I saw the cleaners were still on the floor so I mentioned it to them, they were so apologetic and came and totally san... vad folk säger » itized the bathroom all over again, replaced all towels, water etc. my husband had contacted front desk as there wasn't an ironing board in room, the - I was impressed with the all the staff, who were very friendly, very helpful with our questions about local events and destinations. My impression is that the Hotel is well managed, and the staff are very well trained. The Hotel is beautifully laid out in refurbished 19th century buildings on the harbour front.   I had the pleasure of visiting a friend who was staying on the 1st floor. I can only comment on the room. I thought it was a 10. One of the nicest decorated/furnished rooms of any hotel I have stayed in. The bathroom white marble was stunning.

  The staff were expecting us when we arrived and are very helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant (Jack's) was excellent and the staff there very friendly. - We went to st. John's for medical reasons. Stayed at capital b/c we did stay there before and it was clean and quiet.
