  The room size was great and a very large bathroom. Bathroom and pool towels were huge! Comfortable bed and though close to the airport, wasn't kept awake by the faint noise.   Location was excellent. You are right in the middle of everything. Trolley and boat cruises are right there. Staff was excellent and helpful.   John's Gate B&B is a gourmet breakfast B&B with magnificent food(gourmet sit down, or, basket of food if you need one because you are on the run); 24/ hr. coffee available; great beautiful home in a great setting ( very close wlk to main shopping area in Niagara on the Lake) & easy cylcling location. The rooms are cozy, clean, and spacious & - Our hostess Meheroo was helpful and friendly, guiding us to wineries, restaurants and local attractions. The breakfasts were delicious and the rooms comfortable and clean. The b & b was within walking distance of the downtown (about 10 minutes) and very quiet. The cool and welcoming verandah was a lovely spot to sample the wines we purchased during our bike tour of some local wineries! Would stay here again and recommend it to other visitors to notl.

  We arrived around 2.30pm but had to wait 40 minutes to get checked-in. There weren't enough staff initially, then the computer system crashed. We accept that problems happen, but the reception staff handling these issues at the time were poor, showing no regard for the frustration of customers waiting to check-in. The other commendable practice in this hotel is to respect guests' privacy, i.e. if one hangs a "Do not disturb" sign outside the door, the understanding is that the chambermaid will NOT knock on your door to insist a clean up (as is the case of many hotels).   I really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. I liked the peacefulness and nature atomospher of the resort. Love the fact that it offers many water activities on site such as canoeing, kayaking etc. close distance to sandbanks beach, offers many sports. I enjoyed my room in the Anex it was updated, sitting area in the back was great to relax. Made the most of my stay and had wonder - We liked the resort location, and enjoyed a great meal in the Veranda in the restaurant, and breakfast in the dining room the next morning.   allt - We stayed there for 6 nights and had a wonderful time. It was close to everything and the breakfast was wonderful and filling. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. The 2 gentlemen on the front desk were very helpful and made us feel right at home.   Having spent 40+ weeks a year (for over 20 years) in hotels very much like this one I can honestly say that the staff here are in a class of their own. Only once every few years do I find such a well run operation full of such friendly, helpful and capable people.
