The location was tops..A minute walk to the beach and right in the center of Mooloolaba shopping and close to all bus routes and attractions.Julie the owner seemed to be always onsite and ready to help with any queries and information and any requests were dealt with in a friendly manner.The room I had was great..Woke up with a view of the sea and saw the stars at night. I gave my parents 5 days stay with Sandcastles as a xmas gift. They both had to postpone their stay due to health issues but the staff were very understanding, re-booking was not an issue and my parents commented on how nice the staff were during their stay!.
alla recensioner » Loved the location, loved the room. Could see the ocean from our bed. Loved that they were only 1 bedroom apartments, mean't we didn't have to share the pool. Most of the time we were the only two people in it. Just great. we loved the view looking down the beach and the beautiful lighting .There was a thai restaurant on the other side of the road it was packed by 8 oclock and the food was so nice very convenient. The unit although small was modern and well appointed with a lovely view of the ocean. The bed was very comfortable and the balcony area was excellent. Close to beach beach view friendly staff - allowed late checkins/out close to lots of cafes and shops easy parking easy to get to / to find. Nice friendly staff , Nice clean apartment , very comfortable , great location walk to everything ....I will stay at Sandcastles again . The staff were very helpul and the location was magnificent - quiet, close to the beach, shops and other amenities. Gorgeous view. Eric was great, and helpful. The rooms were clean and well presented as a self contained experience. Pretty good close to club and resturants, near beach, good parking, close to shops. the location was excellent; room was small but well appointed; clean and neat;. The only thing I didn't like was I couldn;t use the pool it was still a bit cold...But it was winter.. No dislikes. The cot we had organised for our child was shocking. Apparently the complex only has ONE to lend out which seems a bit strange, and they hire one in.. Which was LITERALLY falling apart. No TV in Bedroom we stayed in hotel previously and there was a TV in bedroom so we expected one. Shower to small and no shelves in shower recess to put your shampoo & stuff. Light flickering in bedroom. booked expecting "ocean views", however the views from the second floor of Sandcastles would better be described as "view of the roof top of the surf club with a small peak of ocean above" - "ocean views" was a tad misleading. Was also concerned that when we tried to use the fire steps instead of the lift, we found the exit from each level locked - even on the reception level. Garbage truck every morning at 4am!. Suft club next door had rubbish truck arrive on Sunday morning for pick up at 6am. Heard everything. A little small. Wold have liked a little more room. Small lounge....would have Liked another comfortable chair to watch TV. No TV in the bedroom,. Stating to getting a little dated. It needs a very big renovation Very noisy in the bedroom, windows are not blocking the noise outside. Hotel is getting old & tired. Could not park near reception to sign in. The ocean view was not as good as we thought it would be. The air con unit was on the balcony blowing hot air onto the balcony so you could not sit there while the air con was on inside. The unit was very small and we felt cramped. There was no room for our bags in the bedroom so we had to climb over them to move around the room. The bed was very hard and uncomfirtable. Very very noisy. Ear plugs are a definate if you want any sleep. Noise continuous until 4.30am and then the rubbish trucks arrive! The room was lack luster and not very clean, we had to wash our feet several times. AC was broken. Lots of noise and smell from the surf club next door so we had to shut all the doors and windows.....that's when the lack of AC became a problem. Staff attempted to sort the problem but couldn't. Maybe we could have been moved to another room....or perhaps got a discount. Thought it was pretty run down. The air filters hadn't been cleaned. Needed a lot of tlc. The pillows were all very hard and uncomfortable. The sofa lounge for our son had springs just under the lining that were both visible and very uncomfortable. hot water was limited to 1 shower cleaning equipment was ineffective Wasn't a full ocean view apartment car park entry used a key. staff not the friendliest. not as good as described. unit had no telephone. no movie channel. coffee and tea not replaced. paid extra for ocean view which was obstructed. was disappointed for the price paid. The room was tired. Error in booking air conditioning not working 1 of 2 ceiling fans not working unable to operate cd player nowhere to store shampoo etc in shower while showering. Disgusting bed to sleep in. It's too soft and small for 2 adults. We woke up every morning in pain due to the bad matteress. We booked the room on a week day and it was also reaining, I requested an apartment with an ocean view and all we got was the back of the surf club with no ocean views unless we leaned to one side of the balcony, In fact, we were so disappointed that we returned to Brisbane and never stayed the night. I am unable to understand why we never received a better room with the ocean views as the complex was empty, I counted 10 cars in the car park. Tom Barrett.
