The staff was excellent from beginning to the end of our stay. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were extremely clean! Bed very comfortable. I asked the cleaning person to leave me more coffee for the room and left some money for her to take. I had more coffee and she left the money! I did leave it when we left! Close to great shopping! Close to Fenway. Near excellent dining. The Bell Hops were very nice!

The hotel made up for a mistake letsbookhotel.com made. They accommodated my reservation even though letsbookhotel.com had never sent it to the hotel.

The location is wonderful. You're within walking distance to almost everything of interest in the city. There is a Whole Foods next door as well if you want to get something life fresh fruit. The rooms are spacious and clean -- and we got one with a wonderful view of the Charles River. I'm not sure if it was worth all the money we paid for it, but it was a weekend in a centrally-located hotel in Boston. I guess the price made sense.

Staff was very friendly and offered to upgrade our room just because they found out we were on our anniversary.
The maid was very quick and efficient. We left our room for 20 minutes for breakfast and she had the whole room cleaned by the time we returned.

Hotel 140 is located only a 5-minute walk from the rear exit of Back Bay Railroad Station. Upon arrival I had taken the train from Springfield, MA. I followed the drive where the local buses pull into Back Bay Station right out to Clarendon Street and bore left. I had just a half-block walk from that point to the front entrance of the hotel. I liked the location, friendly staff and cleanliness. I liked the complimentary Valet parking and the fact that the T is located so close to the hotel and it was so easy to get into Boston using the red line. The hotel is in a good location. Staff members are nice, however, I would not say that they were excellent. We actually did not have any particular problem with them, so let's say they are OK. The services of the hotel are pretty good, including the every day newspaper, the information booklet in the room (which was extremely helpful) and the free wifi. Those who usually use the mini bar should be aware that there was no such thing in the room (we do not have any issue with this).
