I was travelling alone which can be daunting however I was made to feel welcome and at ease from the start by the landlord landlady and staff. My room was at the front of the hotel over looking the river and was very clean and very comfortable. The Wifi was good in all areas of the hotel The evening meals were excellent as we're the breakfasts and wine.I had a Brilliant stay looking forward to my next visit. Thank you all at the boathouse.
The hotel was basic but gave good value for money.Plenty of hot water,
good food, clean, warm rooms, free parking and all members of staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you. The landlord even offered to carry the wifes baggage! We will be booking again in the summer.
Great value.
Very friendly staff - couldn't do more. Even offered to launder a pair of trousers that were soiled.
Breakfast cooked to order - excellent.
Rooms clean and comfortable.
Excellent position to explore the Dales.
Our host went out of his way to correct an error in my reservation to my benefit, not his--that's integrity. This is an ideal pub-B&B: good food and drink, with simple, clean comfort in a friendly environment.
very friendly place. the hosts could not do enough to make us comfortable and were so welcoming. The food was great and breakfast was very good, hot and very cleanly presented. Highly recommend.

The friendly people, the location for traveling to other towns as well as Matlock. Not having music on when we were eating our evening meal.
Warm friendly atmosphere, made to feel at home, Food was very good and hosts most helpful with local information.

good food. nice people,.
Homely feel.
I did not like or dislike anything in the Hotel it was a budget Hotel, we were there as all the places we chose were booked up, our fault for not realising what a popular place Derbyshire is, there is nothing wrong with the Hotel its just not the sort of place we would normally stay, they were a very nice couple.
Friendly hosts - good food.
(Car park = easy parking.).
They were very friendly and welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable. We didn't eating there but breakfast was full english and good. The free WIFI was very good.
location.
nothing.
Having to leave had such a good time.
The shower was OK but on the small side.
The hotel has a major refurbishment plan in place.
Will definitely use again.
Only the weather.
quite a distance to walk to the main promanade of matlock bath and traffic noise from the road outside.
Not knowing the hotel was closed when making the booking. Helpful staff resolved this. Noisy road passing hotel.
Shower water temperature kept changing from too hot to too cold, otherwise everything was great.
No problems @ all.
Uncontrollable shower tap, Hot then cold then boiling, no thermostat control.
Problem down to brewery not fixing things requested by landlord.
the heat !!!!!!!!!!!!!
not the hotels fault.
There was nothing I could fault.
The rooms were very hot.
tv selection.
Road noise - alongside main A6!!.
This 'hotel' provides basic rooms in a pub which is squashed between a cliff wall and the A6. Lots of road noise in the pub and throughout the village.
We thought it was over priced for what it was, so would suggest you only go if you get a good deal.
shower didnt work, tap on sink loose, bed wasnt a decent bed just 2 matresses put together, room not cleaned until the 3rd day of a 4 day stay.
I did not like being served with toast at breakfast that had blue mould on it TWICE
the location on very busy & noisey A6.
