  Ao Thai Resort is located around 30 minutes drive from Songkhla. Situated in Sathing Phra – a small seaside village, the resort sits on a stretch of secluded white sandy beach with gentle waves and beautiful seashells and colorful fishermen’s boat dotting the coast. It is beautiful, pretty new (opened in 2011) and most importantly to me, very clean. It is run by a friend - This is a true gem on a beautiful unspoilt beach in a quiet location with very friendly people. The bungalows are of different sizes, so if you like spacy rooms, you book one of the bigger bungalows. The most guests seem to be Thais and Malaysian, together with some Expats who come with their own car. On the weekends, it seems to be a gathering place for the locals too (who tend to start karaoke after their beach BBQ), but it was never disturbing, and everybody was quiet before midnight. We st
