Train takes 30 mins and the ticket 1.5 Euro taking you anywhere in Rome, We will definitely return when we need a Rome fix, choosing to stay in Ostia fir the chill.

  Very attractive facilities and perfectly clean. Staff welcoming and friendly and the seaside views outstanding. The breakfasts should be described as banquets. Lots of facilities including transport to the airport and other places. Very well priced.   The friendly atmosphere of the staff. Everybody helped me all the time. If you desire to be at the beach, it's very close to all the private and public beaches. Convenient also if you want to take the bus and go to Rome. I was lucky that I had friends that came to pick me up with their car. Be patient about traffic if you come from Canada. WiFi worked fine (had good video connectivity via Skype). Generally, Lido di Ostia is very good option for beach leisure, for traveling to Rome (40mins by suburban train/metro for 1.50euro
