  We stayed just one night between ferries and were very positively impressed by the standards of the rooms, the most convenient location and the warmth and friendliness of the welcome. The room was spacious, comfortable, spotless and well equipped. The breakfast was truly excellent, served with style, abundant and varied. Since the very beginning we were very happy with the hospitality of the host and the tranquility of the place that is just a few minutes away from the port.   Excellent staff, location, pool, bar, wifi, everything about this hotel is perfect. We were picked up at the ferry by Mike (Owner) and he gave us a tour of the village and noted all the places we would need to find. The atmosphere and the attitude of the staff is a pleasant joy. We were picked up and dropped off at the port, Mike picked up and dropped off visiting friends too, made reservations for us, showed us parts of the island, told us where to go, and was just incredibly warm and welcoming. The resort was beautiful and well taken care of, definitely good for partying, but that's what we came for! The best week to end our trip!! Ios was a blast!

  The hotel is on a hill oposite to the Ios town but near (2 min) from the main plaza and the bus terminal. It has a great view of the Ios and you can look at the sunset, especially from the restaurant.The room was cleaned and the towels were changed our towels every day. From there it was a short walk to villa, which is about a 2 min walk from the beach and in a beautiful setting with lots of vines and flowers. Every morning we would be greeted by him and or his sister and made to feel so welcome an - We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Mata. This family-run place is super friendly and welcoming. The rooms all have private balconies, but there are also communal spaces which make it easy to meet other travellers. The garden setting is gorgeous and really peaceful. Many people hit up Ios to party, but we had a very relaxing time staying at Villa Mata. The little outdoor kitchen is handy for cooking up some food. Also the staff were really helpful when we were planning our onward leg.
