We were a family group of 4 "seniors" and booked the three bedroom "Top deck" suite and it was ideal for our purposes.
It was an interesting, well equipped and comfortable suite and we enjoyed it so much we bought fish and chips and three bottles of wine and dined in.

Friendly staff, very welcoming and easy to check in/out process. Bridge room was beautiful with a hugh bath which was very relaxing. Breakfast in the morning provided a homely feel and was a great start to our driving day along the Great Ocean Road. Would recommend staying here for a stop along The Great Ocean Road.

Great facilities and size of room. Stayed for one night and was greeted on arrival warmly. On check out I was greeted by the lady at the desk using my first name brfore i even gave my details. Nice touch :-) -

Has an amazing location, our ocean-view room had probably the best view I've ever had from a hotel room and I've travelled a lot. Great little patio too which was unexpected but awesome perk. Good standard hostel is really good value and in a great location near (one block back parallel to esplanade) Apollo Bay and within easy reach of some of the best sights on the glorious Great Ocean Road, owner/manager very helpful and knowledgeable and told me road to use to see koalas sleeping in the trees - and they were right there, fab! -

Hotel Marengo is just one of the best value for money accommodations along the Great Ocean Road. We booked in the very last minute, in a try to ensure good weather for the trip, and actually, we did it right, not only with the weather, but with our choice for stay one night. Good location, does what its says on the tin. Motel not a Hotel. Very very clean.
Great big spa bath, nice size bathroom and bedroom, we had the suite, it was a slightly more than a regular room and worth the extra.
Did not get the opportunity to use the pool, but we were disappointed that it was a lot smaller than it looked on the photographs. -

The room was spacious and well appointed. The suite had been very thoughtfully laid out, with a large bathroom, a large wardrobe and plenty of space for luggage. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering knowledgeable recommendations about activities, attractions and the best places to eat. I would not stay anywhere else in Apollo Bay.

We loved the convenience of the Beachfront Motel, not least because we knew that we would be arriving after it was dark. It is very well-designed with the units arranged at right angles to the main road and shielded from any traffic noise by the reception area and office. Each of the units is equipped with its own mini-kitchen and this makes it perfect for an extended stay on the coast.

Had a wonderful stay in a room with a view. Watching the sunrise from the sea, sitting in the comfort of your room.
The owner is an excellent human being , she went out of her way to help us when we went through a stressful situation due to rental car breakdown.
Wish there were more people like her around to make each of your trip a pleasant memory.

On arrival we were warmly greeted and directed to a very comfortable room. We spent a pleasant 2 nights in the motel. All the staff were helpful especially directing us to Cape Otway where we were able to see koalas in their natural environment. What a sight. Apollo Bay halfway along the GOR so an ideal stopping off point. -

The hotel is in a good location just a very quick walk from town but with great water views that many other motels lacked and no noise from tourists and traffic etc.

Thia was a friendly place in a very quiet residential location, close to, but not in the centre of the town. I had a lovely morning walk round watching birds such as galahs & honeyeaters. Some people might prefer to be on the sea front, But Appollo bay is a very small place, so it doesn;t make much difference, particularly if you have a car.

Views of the ocean ( we had a first floor apartment) facilities and ammenities of the apartment(.2 large bedrooms with king and queen beds-TVS in both bedrooms and living room-ensuite with spa bath and 2nd bathroom- 2 toilets- spacious and quiet.
