The welcome we received from Anna at reception was what we would expect from a 4 star establishment. She was very detailed regarding the facilities and showed us to our room which had everything that would wish for, it overlooked the bay and being such a nice clear day the views were spectacular. We were left in no doubt that this was a friendly hotel from the outset. We had dinner in the restaurant,I had the Mallaig Haddock which was cooked to perfection accompanied by grease free chips, very tas. todos opiniões »
The girls on the reception are an absolute treat - very helpful and
friendly; thank you Clair, and Anna. The location is fantastic. It can
be noisy about 6am, with delivery lorries but that did not bother us in
the slightest, as we are early risers. The view of the harbour from the
front facing rooms, is simply out of this world. The breakfast, which is
included, is fantastic quality! We have stayed in Marmalade/McLeod
Hotels before, and the breakfast is always bril, but the Mallaig smoked
salm.
We have been to the Bosville Hotel quite a few times now and loved each of the rooms we are allocated. On this trip we were unexpectedly upgraded to a premier room. What a treat! There were plenty of teas and coffees, including decaff and hot chocolate sachets plus biscuits. The large kidney shaped bath and separate shower were piping hot. The breakfasts were well cooked and the waitress remembers what you like! the receptionist is attentive and really friendly. The atmosphere is welcom.
The service from the staff was second to none. Extremely helpful and eager to please and help out in any way they could. We received a complimentary upgrade after asking for a room spray to get rid of a smokey smell which was a real treat. Thank you! The breakfast was also superb. Excellent choices - was extremely difficult to chose. Great fresh, local produce. Very impressive.
We stayed in the recently renovated fisherman's cottage adjacent to the hotel. Very spacious room and bathroom with upstairs sitting area. Cooked breakfast to order was very good and dinner was as well. We needed to take an early ferry the second morning and staff was accommodating and provided us with the continental breakfast before the restaurant opened.
The room was quite small but pleasant and clean. The young lady at reception was very helpful when we arrived early and let us in a couple of hours before check in time. The evening meal was good and reasonably priced, the service was excellent. The breakfast was beautifully presented and probably the nicest we had eaten anywhere.
The staff on entrance were extremely helpful as we arrived an hour early and our room was ready early, so we were very pleased to get into our room and relax. The breakfast was fantastic, and when I asked for specific cheeses (as im pregnant) I was given them. Everything was very prompt and made for a relaxing stay.
A very good hotel, nice room, well situated in the town, and with a decent restaurant. As we ate there both nights, the restaurant was happy to prepare an off-menu veggie main course to avoid duplication. Skye was lovely, and we might return, in which event we would be more than happy to stay in the same hotel.
The staff were super, friendly helpfull cheerfull. It was lovely to be shown to our room, not the usual in a small hotel. We loved loved loved the food in the Chandlry. But staff were happy to recomend another local eating place, again unusual.
We liked the very warm welcome from the staff and the fact that the dog
was no problem to them and no extra charge. We ate there on all 3
evenings and were very impressed with the food. The breakfasts were also
very good.
Clean hotel - bedroom windows clean - net curtains spotless (a very good sign). Very friendly, helpful staff, lovely bar area - nice dining room - good food! Our room overlooked the harbour area, with good views.
Cannot fault this hotel, so pleased we chose it, staff were so friendly and helpful, room was very comfortable and cosy and the food was excellent, definitely be our first choice on our next visit to the island !.
Loved the room and the bathroom. Plenty of space and very clean. Wonderful location in the centre of Portree. Staff, very friendly and helpful. Only stayed one night as a stop over so not much more to say.
Rooms were spacious and well set out, location was fantastic, staff were very helpful
Food was great local fish, mackeral pate and cullen skink delicious, lovely atmosphere in the bar.
Staff extremely friendly, especially the manager who was also very helpful.Room comfortable but public areas could do with a facelift.Food good and friendly feel to the hotel.
Friendly staff, good location, good, clean confortable rooms with very nice ensuite.
Food was very good (for my husband), service in restaurant excellent.
Location, lovely view from our room window, warm and inviting and friendly and helpful staff. Very good value and breakfast was first class and plentiful!.
the hotel is a gem in all aspects, the food was brilliant especially the starter realy worth a stay top marks to the staff really made our stay a treat.
good location in the centre of portree. We had a lovely meal in the bistro-it was obviously very popular with the locals which is a good sign.
The room was very comfortable with a large bed and plenty of storage space. The location right in the centre of Portree is excellent.
Breakfast and spacious room of one couple. This bathroom looked a bit tired round the edges but the one on the top floor was better.
We liked the Isle of Skye & we had great weather. We preferred the north of the island but are thoroughly glad we went there.
Great location, central to all of Skye. Good food in restaurant. Nice spot. Towel warmer in bathroom. Nice, big room.
Extremely helpful and professional staff. Good facilities in the hotel with easy access free parking 2 minutes walk away.
Nice hotel staff really friendly food excellent rooms well done out and modern close to town centre which is a small town.
We loved our room ! The staff were very attentive. Loved the bar and the food was delicious. Great breakfast.
Good locality, rooms good size and fresh. Staff excellant. Good bar attached to hotel. Good restaurant.
Lovely welcome and busy hotel bar. Good sized room with separate shower
and bath. Breakfast was lovely.
Relaxed atmosphere and helpful friendly staff. Central base for sight-seeing anywhere on the island.
Good position. Staff who cared about you and were enjoying their work. Good menu. Comfortable room.
The views were exceptionally good, even though the time we were there
the weather was poor.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room very comfortable. Restaurant food was excellent.
Staff very friendly & helpful, good location in Portree for getting about the village.
Friendly nice staff hotel was clean, always a warm smile from staff.rooms are a good size.
Spacious room, convenient location in town and in the general area of things to see.
The room was a good size. The staff were very helpful. Couldn't fault the hotel.
The location was perfect, the staff were very friendly, breakfast was beautiful.
Food was excellent , lovely hotel and staff were very friendly and helpful.
The spacious rooms good location wonderful hearty delicious breakfasts.
staff , meal (breakfast) , location, room (except view).
Great welcome, nice friendly staff, lovely atmosphere.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Stunning location.
Location
Comfort of the rooms
Friendliness of staff.
luxury rooms / friendly staff / relaxing atmosphere.
The service was good very happy inviting people.
Good hotel and good food in their dining room.
The people and the ruggedness of the country.
good location good food relaxing atmosphere.
Staff very friendly and helpful
Free wifi.
Friendly staff, nice food, great location.
Very poor parking facilities as indicated on the brochure,we were lucky to get a space when one became vacant on the street outside the hotel.
The lady who was serving breakfast, forgot to take our order, after
serving us coffee, but that was quickly rectified by Anna, and the
fantastic service was resumed.
:-).
Having to go home!.
We had dinner in the restaurant and whilst the starters were good the main course of ribeye steak was disappointing and expensive.
The parking was limited, we got a space and did not move as we were only there for a night.
only one thing was our room was right next to the stairs to reception and we could hear everyone passing and going down the stairs quite clearly!.
The only negative comment i can make are about the mattresses and the pillows. I just dont think hotels update these often enough, the Bosville was far from the worst i have experienced.
Stairwell to bedrooms is a little drab - could do with redecoration - but not offputting.
That we couldn't stay longer!.
Everything was great. Only one thing I didn't like: the price, I felt was excessive hving now stayed at the hotel. On arrival I was greeted with the words " we have had to upgrade you!" However I had already paid for the luxury of a superior room as all others were fully booked.
Vegetarian options on Menu. The two choices while tasty were more like starters than main meal.
Nothing negative to say really.
nothing.
Nothingt.
There is normally no parking available. A few spaces on the street outside are always full. (This was known when we booked).
One of the 2 couples was in a room on the top floor. Carting luggage up was difficult for them and the 2 steps down to the bathroom quite dangerous at night. We should have made clear when booking that we were elderly but this should have been obvious on arrival!.
Bed a bit hard for my liking!.
Room was very warm and noisy outside on the Saturday night. The price you pay for the location
The room only had one chair.
Nothing.
Nothing really. Parking can be a bit of a problem but apart from that a good well run hotel.
Toilet could have been cleaner. Excessive noise from creaky floors in
room above.
Our luxury suite was in a small cottage close to the main hotel. While the rooms were superb, unfortunately the cottage was behind the local coop and we were awakened every morning at between 5 and 6am. Also the hotel bins were behind the cottage and access to them by hotel staff early in the morning was very noisy.
Television reception was terrible!.
The extractor in the en suite facility did not work.
We didn't like having the room above the bar,we was suppose to be up early never got a sleep until 00.30, then the young local pub goers shouting and screaming at 02.30, then the shop across the road had delivery's at 06.30.
all heard in the room.
I would strongly not go back to that room.!!.
Parking was a little scarce, bar noise from downstairs.
Nothing.
Nothing all good.
TV channels kept freezing unwatchable.
View of fire escape & wall from window.
Creaky floorboards above our room!.
Rain!.
parking can be a problem but the staff always help find a solution.
The lack of parking close-by. We had to park on the street some way away, but overall it wasn't TOO bad.
The rain.
only one bedside lamp - difficult when both people read in bed.
My husband thought the bedroom was a little hot and airless.
bed not very comfortable..soft. Walls thin, we could hear other guests and staff going around.
